Uniform - Shoes

Post by amhopkins1 »

Hi all,

I start as a postman next week, and I have seen there a few choices for footwear as part of the uniform. Does anyone have any recommendations on what the best type of footwear is? As I'm going to be walking 6-10 miles a day I want them to be comfortable!

Thanks

I was sent the easy flex waterproof trainers automatically, I find them pretty comfortable on the whole. I do use insoles in mine. They didn't rub at all so no blisters but sometimes find my toes feel a but squashed. Looking around my DO most people seem to wear these , the other they wear is the anvil trainers ( both are waterproof ). I think it will be a question of suck it and see. Looking at the uniform ordering website you are entitled to 2 pairs so see how you get on with the first pair and go from there. Everyone's feet are different so hard question to answer. Enjoy your job and congratulations

Cheers for the reply, think I'll go for the easy flex ones, and a pair of the Magnum boots for winter.

I've been beating the streets for 30 years I wear the karrimor hiking shoes and wear orthotics for flat foot correction. I wear normal trainers indoor then change before I go out. This works best for me.
