Do the bods at the top EVER think?????

Post by saru »

Just got home & flicked throught the RM propaganda machine, The Courier. Check out page 4 - PRODUCT OF THE MONTH.

"Early collect gives customers the option to pick up mail from their local DO at an agreed time between 6am & 8.30am. It is designed to help customers who need to get important mail early in the day."

Did the f*ckwit who thought of this realise that we don't start until 6.15 & don't get onto IP until 7.30 at the earliest???? So how do customers get their mail from 6am onwards??? Maybe they'll come in & give us a hand, cos that's the only chance they've got of getting any mail at all before 8.30am.

Unfu*kingbelievable!!!!

Oh purleeeeeeeeeeeeeze it's easy!!!!
When a dude or dudette goes in for this the customer service person contacts them and tells them it's not starting on Monday it will start on Tuesday.
So when you sort Mondays mail up it will go in their box to be picked up Tuesday.
When you sort Tuesdays mail up, it will go in a box to be picked up Wednesday.
When you sort Wed...............oh ffs you get what i mean dont ya!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I don't believe what I just read!

Post by andy2007 »

I'm finding it hard to believe what I have just read in Courier! People should be able to recieve their mail early in the day, through their letterbox. It's what it's there for!!!!! :mad :evil/mad :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :no no :no no :Sick :Sick

Instead of imposing later starts, and merging walks. They should be ensuring that it is possible for us to deliver the mail early in the morning in the first place!!!!! :evil/mad :Sick :arrrghhh

To add insult to injury. They are demanding payment for the Customers to have the privilage of delivering their own Mail!!!!! :Sick :evil/mad :arrrghhh :Sick :evil/mad

Our Callers Office opens at 7 Mon - Sat - except last week they decided to only open from 8 on Saturdays - unfortunately nobody managed to tell the customer. Course the 739 still reads 7 and so does the Brass plaque outside the callers office door.

Modernisation? Priceless!

Posties know how RM should be organised. All changes proposed by RM management should be run past us first, so we can point out the pitfalls. They could use the Courier to keep us informed. Though at the moment there might be some reluctance to help. The management regime isn't popular. We'd help Tony Benn if he could be put in to manage RM, though, wouldn't we?

There aren't many things in our office which couldn't be done more efficiently than they are now, but as you say, there is reluctance to point these things out because why should we help screws and DUM's or RM? There is nothing in it for us, so let them get on with it. Every Friday, the DUM tells someone to carry out a particular task which, with a little thought, could be done saving a couple of man hours and without losing a couple of people on IPS. Several of us have spotted this, and it has carried on for the last couple of years. Do we point it out to him? Certainly not! Who would gain by doing so? Not us. So let them carry on with it. It's not our company, and until such time as Royal Mail is run by and on behalf of the workers and customers, the 'managers' can carry on being as inefficient as they like. There is no incentive to put forward ideas, which is why the 'Brainwave' initiative of the 1980s was such a huge flop. "You come up with a great idea, and we'll send you a Royal Mail pen!" No thanks. Here's a better idea; Get rid of the drones and parasites on huge wages for doing nothing but sit in meetings drinking coffee day after day speaking bullshit. Get rid of the DUM's and screws. After all, anyone can cut and tip , put out trays, shunt Yorks and we could all do those things without bullying the new starters, the quiet and the vulnerable. Then we can all put forward our ideas to the benefit of ourselves and the customers we deal with.
