Hey all. Nothing set in stone yet and I've already read about tonnes of people failing to get the transfers they want cuz of their old DOMs, thus my question for now is hypothetical - just trying to plan ahead.
I'm thinkin of moving to Scotland from SW England, and requesting a transfer once I find a new office who'll take me. I'd like to hear from people who have transferred who could tell me about the time off they had/were granted during the transfer to setup their new life/home.
And have some of you had to go as far as quitting your job and re-applying for the new one to enable you to do the transfer smoothly rather than on your one day off? Movin office in the same town sounds easy..but transferring hundreds of miles away.. different story.
What you say?

Time off between transfers
You could obviously use your holiday entitlement and also apply for special leave which would be without pay for any extra time you need to move/settle in.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
