Woman stole Post Office cash

A Post Office worker has been ordered to carry out community service after admitting stealing thousands of pounds.
Allison Robson, of Cullercoats Road, Hylton Castle, was given 12 months' community service by city magistrates and ordered to pay Â£2,539 compensation for stealing cash belonging to the Post Office.

Robson admitted 10 charges of theft between March and June this year.
Amounts ranging between Â£105 and Â£401 were taken, totalling Â£2,539.

A Post Office spokesman confirmed Robson had worked at Hylton Castle post office, but was not a employee of the Post Office.

He said: "We have a zero- tolerance approach to any dishonesty and we will always seek to prosecute the tiny minority of people who abuse their position of trust."
