Anyway we're being asked( how to stop you being tracked) . Quite simply you can't. I dont no what people are so worried about. The worryers are the ones with something to hide. We've all seen these things before, do this, do that , just do the job properly. If your sitting at home or in your van for God knows how long , I can understand you have something to hide. I personally couldn't give a shite. I ain't got nothing to hide.
to right , and sooner the better , no more ghost o/t and no more flyers , :Applause :Applause

So do you finish right on your time every day then? Royal Mail possibly the only job in the world where the least you do, the slower you go the more you get paid. It’s a good job we have a strong union otherwise the useless members of staff would be out of a job.

And because it will become a thing, they must have the intention to couple PDAs with a mechanism (wouldn’t be surprise if it was similar to the amazon warehouse PDA system, but twisted to fit the street), a mechanism to prevent posties simply walking twice as slow.

How that mechanism works is the concern, surely.
Actually I'm curious as to what methods of "making time" are left that haven't already been precluded by Trimble or are acts of total lunacy? Trimble basically prevents you from harsh acceleration & braking, excessive cornering speed and leaving the van idling. So that basically leaves acts of lunacy like using the PDA whilst driving, not wearing a seatbelt and pulling mail of the next bundle whilst driving surely?

Not everybody uses a van, using the HTC as a mobile drop box can save a lot of time if you're that way inclined

Not specifically no.

However, as I have posted before they do use a Breadcrumbs programme that gives GPS report every time. This means they know the distance you travelled from one-time point to the next.

Now as Time over distance = speed........
Yeah exactly. That’s why I’m suggesting that, if the PDAs are intended to, amongst other things, stop any time whatsoever being “made”, there must also be some accompanying intention to prevent posties simply walking half the speed. And they’ll know if you do.

Really simple. By finishing your walk early, because of a light day, and getting back to a clear office, includkng no management - happens lots I reckon.

agree with the above, its common for people to finish up to 90 minutes early still at my office, managers just sit in their office so dont notice when people are getting back and leaving, so long as work is done they dont care.

And why should they care? When posties come back early what actual extra work will they do because there won’t be any. Do people think they will keep work back deliberately for the early finishers?

I honestly think this whole 'PDA thing' could be a huge mistake on RM's part.
If managers clamp down on any early finishing, as we assume is the idea, then flyers will very quickly stop being flyers.
They will end up getting less work out of quick staff because they will slow down.
Do RM really think flyers will continue to rush around, just to come back and be given extra?
The 'you're on a go slow' conversation will be null and void because the PDA will be king, the runners will only have to make a few changes to their working day to come back much closer to their finish time.
If they really do take it to the extreme and overtime can't be 'performed' until the end of your duty, then who will do it.
The 'slower' staff will continue to plod along as they do now and once again the PDA data will be difficult to argue with.

My predictions, Flyers will have to get used to finishing an hour or so later than they do now.
Flyers will lose money as if its not 'ghosting' it wont be as tempting.
Managers will be in s*** street when sickness levels are high as the interest in splitting walks wont be as popular.
Their will be more cut offs as the PDA gives people more confidence to argue their case.
If managers can find a fool proof way of still paying ghost overtime, then this whole thing wont stop flyers in my opinion.
