I didn't realise you could have a sense of humour bypass on the NHS?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I'm quite frankly disgusted that you believe that the NHS should fund this.

How can it be cutting corners if you write on every single P739 card before you have even attempted to knock or ring the bell?? It would only be time saving if you knew you were bringing about 90% of the packets back to the office.

Most days I get rid of about 90% of my parcels/recorded letters

Why bother with knocking when you've already written out the card?

You've lost me fish. The point I am making is that it takes longer to write out the card then it is to knock on the door and know within 2 or 3 seconds that you will actually be writing the card out.

Besides, the legendary Postman says its against the rules to pre-write P739s and that's good enough for me :thumbup

Under no circumstances should a P739 be completed prior to, or as an alternative to, delivery.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

This is absurd. How can it save time to write out every card prior to leaving the office rather than possibly having to write it out while you're out there?

Because this thread was started more than 10 years ago when writing out every card meant about 4.

Surely the time spent writing out the cards in the office is roughly equal to writing them out on the duty? :hmmmm Especially if you're not actually going to end up using all of them. I just start writing them out when I chap the door, if they haven't answered by the time I've written it out then I feel it's safe to assume they're not coming to the door.

The only time I have ever filled a card out before going out is when I know they are never in.
