No cloak and dagger conspiracies in this managers briefing.

Quite simply, the manager produced a document for employees highlighting the deal in an attempt to gain support for a yes vote.

For whatever reason he put the number and password to access the briefing that he had given his managers on the document so that staff could listen to it.

The members passed it to their union who forwarded it on to headquarters, the rest is history?

About 30 minutes of the call is management speak explaining to each other what is happening and what has been agreed and how they as managers see the approach should be. I personally see nothing contentious in that but just before the Q&A session and during it the following points are raised:

He said or they said

"The pension is linked to the offer"

"This deal is no different in reality to the first one except for lump sums"

"Phase 3 of flexibility is the most contentions part - covering for each other"

"They needed to concede Saturday deliveries to get the later starts in the deal"

"Potentially 5 hour deliveries are possible if they (meaning us) sign up to it"

"They accept that in South Wales are over 3.5 hours and that these were agreed with the individual - it would be an option and they would not press gang people into doing it"

"change by agreement" - "A fresh start is need" - "A less adversarial approach is needed" - and then he says just before he is cut off "If someone goes against this deal sit them down and explain it to them"

I present these points for your own consideration and have (hopefully) put no slant on them, this is what they said.

We knew the pension WAS included from the letter BARBER of the TUC sent to our Leaders dated the 12th of October.

I listened to the whole conversation too and wasn't too surprised. PK is waffling about the best deal and walk sequencing and any old mundane cr*p rather than getting down to the real crux of the matter which is the REAL AGENDA - having said that these guys are so blinkered and enamoured of the Labour Party they wouldn't spot the real agenda if it bit them in the backside.

Walk sequencing? Anyone who works in an SPDO and sees the state of the walk sorted and the IPS mail from mail centres must surely shake their head in thinking that RM are anywhere near walk sequencing.

RM are looking to casualise the delivery staff - someone actually posted an advert for a 1 hour permanent contract in NI with a driving licence, we'll give you ring when we need you with 24 hours notice if possible. How many offices have had full time contracts issued in the last 2 years?

These issues need sorting at local level says PK - we all know that is a crock of cr*p - managers have been instructed to show the agreement to those who are reluctant to enter into the spirit of the agreement and "explain" it. Pretty much in the same way that RM was persistently explaining the Pay deal to the CWU - so many times in fact that they ended up agreeing to it .

Got the whole lot from the download converted it to C D will be giving it to PEOPLE in my UNIT a m let them make their iwn minds up !!! onlly one way to go really TIME WILL TELL

Sorry it took me so long to Post about this recording, but the quality was so bad, that it took me a while to listen carefully to it.

I have been discreetly passing details of where to download it from (here) to those who have Internet access, and letting others listen to it on an MP3 Player.

It's creating quite a stirr.

I was a bit dissapointed that it was cut off in the middle of an expliation as to how they will try to abuse the first paragraph of the deal, if anyone "fails to enter into the spirit of the agreement"!

I took the trouble of making sure everyone could hear exactly what the managers
have been briefed.How i got the information is not important.
The Way Forward got through because of a north/south divide.
Forums such as this are building bridges and getting info across as weaker offices
will not allow reps to brief members.
Try not to slate me...try thanking me or i just won't bother!!!
