Can any Rural or Firms Driver tell me what they use to carry their mail?
I'm on a Rural duty and have been using trays similar to one's that hold fruit&veg.Health and Safety have said that we can't use them now as they are not part of the Royal Mail 'Kit'.We've got to use letter trays instead.

I need some advice on this one as I think Health and Safety has gone mad...

The old "bread trays" were banned years ago.
The reason was some idiots were loading them up with half a delivery then trying to pick them up off the floor instead of just leaving them in the back of the van and transferring the mail from letter trays.

It's not health and safety that was mad....
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Did the health and safety person insist on all Royal Mail 'kit' being used, for example light weight trolleys or did they have selective vision .
