There is no national D2D standard, as long as they go out each week, duty holder decides schedule.kookoo32 wrote:Reading this just shows me the differences in offices. In our office we frame up 1/6 a day - delivering to all addresses that day. We were told that this is how it's done nationally.
Most of my depot puts in extra RM2000 boxes and take where they are going with other mail, Monday to Friday, leaving just a few to mop up on Saturday. A few put in 1/6th and take the lot each day. Even fewer put in extra Mon-Fri and take the lot each day.
There were some imaginative trails going on (in the south west?) where they were trying other ways, like throw in the whole lot on Monday and take where you are going each day. The result of that trail was kept quiet.
Personally, I don't see the point of walking up to a door and simply delivering D2D, taking up to ~1 minute on the longest drives. Especially when you have a short Tuesday, when the mail call rate should be much lower than the rest of the week.
