If the managers don't give a s**t, why the hell should we?? Only an avalanche of compensation claims will see a change of attitude. Surely somebody at RM is paid enough to have spotted that later starts = later deliveries and that later times on guaranteed deliveries should be announced :arrrghhh After all, us overpaid! posties ALL spotted this b***s up :no no
But there's unlikely to be an avalanche of compensation claims as, unless I'm mistaken, (a) compensation for late delivery is just the postage, not the valoeof the item and (b) the claim is made by the sender who is unlikely to know what time it's delivered.

But don't they have set targets and would RM get fined for missing them on a regular basis.

they send our drivers to do the 9am specials...trouble is they are then late back after battling through the traffic so it makes them late for delivering bags pkts and even the firms mail
as for normal specials....our office shuts at 14.00 so as my finish is 14.40 they go back the following day....cant wait to see the failure figures

i'd hazard a guess that firms that send out time sensitive documents such as tenders for work would be able to claim compensation. As if the said tenders were delayed then it might mean that firm loosing a valuable contract.
After all if royal mail undertakes to deliver these items on a set time scale then they have a duty to deliver them on time

remember RM are not held for consequential losses on items like tenders.
most offices(like mine) will confirm all SD items delivered before 1pm when they are still on delivery so all will show as delivered before the due time.
