The job's a load of s**t now. Constantly working in pain, if it's not the back, it's the knees, if it's not the knees, it's the feet, and on really, really s**t days, all three together.
If you can kiss this daily torment goodbye, then do so, and best of luck to you.

Not For Me
Gave it four weeks as many of you suggested.
Still not for me and have quit. Last day tomorrow.
Thanks for all the advice. All the posties - with one exception - have been great but the management and training has been a total joke.
As a footnote what other would offer a contract for a job with 8.45am to 2.30pm working hours when said job is very rarely completed by 3.30pm - even 4.30 - some days ?
Fine if you are single and childless I guess but as a parent with school age kids I cannot live my life that way...

because its a variation of a zero hour contract, they pay you extra when they need you, but when theres a lighter day you wont make as much out of it.gumbygirl77 wrote:Gave it four weeks as many of you suggested.

By 4 weeks you should have a good idea, you made the right decision I think, its not even particularly busy at the moment, good luck.

Sorry to hear you quit. Did you get yourself another job first? Or was it so bad you didn't care !?Postie45 wrote:because its a variation of a zero hour contract, they pay you extra when they need you, but when theres a lighter day you wont make as much out of it.gumbygirl77 wrote:Gave it four weeks as many of you suggested.

All the best for the future, gumbygirl.
The job adverts certainly do need to reflect the actual hours needed, especially for folk who need to be finished for the school run.

I'll agree with you on the hours I'm 930-230 contract and normally do 9-330.
Their 'flexibility' rule is crap if they don't properly explain it in the interview stage.
All the best with your next job.

In the interview the question: Are you flexible is really "Are you compliant"

Not For Me
The way they treat new starters is an utter disgrace.
3 people started the same day as me a month ago - as of this week only 1 of them is left and they were telling me on my last day that they were also going to leave.
Great sustainable business model that is...
Thanks for all your help on this thread - have got some temping lined up in mid April and will take it from there.
