100% agree to banning low level letterboxes - simply no need/excuse to have one
Even more so with no numbers on doors espicially flats - what is that about...pathetic when you think about it.

Also, not one house has a door bell or knocker, let's make them compulsory - my knuckles are worn out with knocking,

I've just trapped a nerve in my back bending down to post door to doors in 33 flat doors today, all of the letter boxes are at the bottom. If my back doesn't improve I won't be delivering to those flats tomorrow. Someone else in the office can have the pleasure.

if you report it don't say bending down, they'll blame you. You're meant to bend your knees rather than your back.Flora wrote:I've just trapped a nerve in my back bending down to post door to doors in 33 flat doors today, all of the letter boxes are at the bottom. Easier send than done, what we should be doing is refusing to deliver to them, they should all be banned. this is a health & safety issue but nobody seems to care a f... wonder if posties fefused to deliver to them, how long it would take for the nation to realise just what a problem they are. When I started in the 80s I delivered to a new estate where the majority where low letter boxes, over time people had new letter boxes they almost disappeared. So why in God’s name are they coming back.

From The Times Saturday (a free read while eating my nuggets, fast food is available from other outlets!!):
"The local election campaign is proving to be a pain for James Cleverly, the Tory deputy chairman, who has been out delivering leaflets and is feeling
sore from kneeling to put them through letterboxes at ankle height. "I might bring in a Letterbox (Minimum Height) private member's bill" he says...."
Taking the p**s more like but glad to see someone else feeling the pain.

Difference is he's a rich politician, not a postie pauper, so next time he'll just pay someone else to do it. It'd be great though if his hour of physical exertion does actually move the poor lamb to bring in such a bill.yellowbelly wrote:From The Times Saturday (a free read while eating my nuggets, fast food is available from other outlets!!):
