my office was informed no mail coming in from mail centre . After about an hour of manager (reserve, normal one on leave) phoning around trying to find out what to do, there was a power cut. told to go to another office or home, our choice, everyone went home. When normal manager comes in on Monday, we are informed that seeing we did not do any work the hours would be made up through not being paid overtime.

Unless you've got business use on your car insurance going to another office could potentially be illegal as you might not be covered by your insurance
