All I can is that in my time working with the top mgmt of RM Letters, and RM Group I never cam across an approach to purposely play one mail centre off against another.

E2E Competiton on the otherhand will hit urban areas harder than rural areas. That is common sense and doesn't require inside knowledge to workout.

Fact: More mail centres will close, smaller satellite mail centres will find it hard to install the newer modern machnery, and the costs will in most cases outweigh the benefits. I reckon as with the post office that about 50% of current mail centres will close under the modernisation programme.

As for RM wanting the union to disband, well I am sure they are probably fed-up with union reps and unions in general making it difficult to get rid of poor performing, or colleagues who have done wrong. But to suggest that they want to get rid of unions completely, well that is unrealistic and not even worth thinking about. All mass labout will unionise even if you get rid of the existing union. It is inevitable, history demonstrates this.

We you did forget the biggest county in England but us Yorkshire folk are very forgiving. I don't think we are a "Militant" area but certainly the feeling I get from here and talking to others of site I think Yorkshire is going to be close but the larger units appear to be leaning to a no vote. I think this year actually made Yorkshire a bit more militant in fact in our area only 2 units were working normally (Brighouse and Batley) all others had good to unanimous support throughout. I wonder if this is a backlash against perceived injustice from management.

No postal worker in their right mind will vote "YES" to this shabby deal. It doesn't matter if you work in London, or the outer Hebrides, postal workers will

when you say these things dont favour any part of the country mate i have to dissagree you guys are on london waiting and no direspect meant but its cheaper to live in parts of london than here in oxford so maybe we could get some of that as i read that oxford is one of the most expensive places to live now.
Any comments?

dv when we get a pay rise our london weighting goes up as well but at times not the same % as the pay offer.

Also guys London has the biggest % target savings than elsewhere because we are so expensive.
Do you guys think that the Union and RM are gonna give London MORE so we sign the deal!!!!!

All this seems to have started because of a dodgy rumour,and also mince pie i get your intentions with your post,but you've made it worse.

And of course being down the road from Wimbledon can't be too big a disadvantage - you want to try living in the sticks - the last full time union official we saw was one of the tolpuddle martyrs.
