When is the ballot?
The pay deal is fairly simple it is 5% from October the 2nd and for a person in receipt of the delivery supplement and full time your pay will increase by £21.80 and it is worth £1700 over the 18 month period to you.
Your back pay will be based on basic pay and delivery supplement and being paid the first week in April will be £566 before tax.
The 2% in April 2019 is worth with DS £9. 15.
So in total the 3 year pay deal is worth for delivery full timers with DS £30.95 increase per week.
According to Labour research the average pay increase for 2017/18 was 2.4%.
Part timers will get an an additional 2.665% in October , contrary to rumours this will happen.
The further hour off the working week will be subject to new functional agreement and the outcome of the trails and annual conference will put some markers down around that any final agreement will be subject to a policy forum and to a individual member ballot.

Does the 5% from October 2017 not include night/back shift allowances ? . I was led to believe allowances were in with the back pay .

Don't think so, but correct me if I'm wrong!!dingo wrote:The pay deal is fairly simple it is 5% from October the 2nd and for a person in receipt of the delivery supplement and full time your pay will increase by £21.80 and it is worth £1700 over the 18 month period to you.

Using the figures you've quoted above, you get a rise of 21.80 for 18 months (1700 as you said).
Then in April 2019 you get a further rise of 9.15 plus the original 21.80 for 52 weeks (30.95 x 52) = 1610.
So approx 1700 + 1610 divided by (26+52+52 weeks) = 3310 divided by 130 which is an average of 25.46 over 2.5 years not 30.95.
If you want to quote it over 3 years it's even worse: 21.21

right so all the overtime us part timers clocked up from april - oct brushed under the carpet,
less money to pay if rm hand out a whopping 5% over a 1 1/2 year period then to give out 2.5 last year and 2.5 this year.
give the exec and those higher ups who had THAT CLEVER IDEA a promotion.
show the peasants a large figure and they'll forget about what there really entitled to
life is good

The pay offer was never 2.5% for each year. I believe it was 2% and 2.5%.lightningpostman wrote:

So 4.5% over 2 years or 5% over 18 months.
The number crunchers decided 5% backdated to Oct would be more beneficial as most overtime is performed over the Autumn/Christmas period.
You don't have to accept the deal if you don't like it. Ballot papers should be out soon.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Wrong the offer was 2.6% back dated to April 2017 which on the National Rate would have been worth £10:21 and than 2% from this April would have been worth £8.46 so a total of £19.17
The 5% from October is £20.61 per week.
Hence why the union went for the 5%.
In terms of part timers more part timers increase their hours from October to Christmas than they do from April to August.

And 5% looks like a good result ,until you consider its really 2.5% over two years , with RPI at 4% in January 2018 that gives a two year 1.5% pay cut . Then consider that RPI is on an upward trend with Mark Carney warning of rate rises and inflationary pressure (brexit, trading deficits ,market uncertainty etc.etc. etc) it looks like an even bigger real term pay cut.

From October 2018, assuming the 1 hour reduction happens, An increase in the pay rate by 2.665% needs to be factored in for 6 months of the 2 year period.BELIAL wrote:And 5% looks like a good result ,until you consider its really 2.5% over two years , with RPI at 4% in January 2018 that gives a two year 1.5% pay cut . Yep you are right, but that's still a !.335% pay cut and heading south . So I do apologise for my 1.2% mistake however if you work in delivery ,with the prospect of forced unpaid OT backed up by threat of conduct coding you will know that the 1hr reduction is meaningless.rogersh wrote:From October 2018, assuming the 1 hour reduction happens, An increase in the pay rate by 2.665% needs to be factored in for 6 months of the 2 year period.BELIAL wrote:And 5% looks like a good result ,until you consider its really 2.5% over two years , with RPI at 4% in January 2018 that gives a two year 1.5% pay cut . I'd be wary of taring all of them with the same brush ,after all divide and conquer is the oldest trick in the book.Coinbags wrote:MAIL CENTRES/PROCESSING says it all really !aiden01 wrote:WTF nhs staff work for nowt.. where did i say thatBELIAL wrote:Hi , I note the' we are not worthy crowd' are still floating. Who knows who they really are? What I do know is ,that none of the people I work alongside are campaigning for a pay and pension cut.
I can only guess that these people exist in a very different world from me :you: and everyone I work with{apart from my DIM}
