9 to 5 Duty
I don't have the contact details of the area rep, unfortunately. Is there an email address of someone specific in the CWU whom I can contact regarding this issue?POSTMAN wrote:Contact your area rep, this should be a massive NO NO, there is no need to f**k around with times just because of increased delivery points.

For a full clarification of where RM would LIKE to end up as a result of the trials currently taking place on AHDC. Also where RM would like any and all other trials to end up such as not sorting sequenced mech mail into our sorting frames or even completely removing sorting frames from DOs. Also if implementing CDC pensions is not allowed by the government then what would happen then as a plan B. The responses so far regards CDC do not seem that favourable.number one wrote:Vote no for what?Celgar wrote:0900 to 1700 is where RM wants the delivery job to end up at if not later still. The current proposal/agreement sets 1630 as the latest delivery time for rurals so if you all let this through we are closer still to 9 to 5 duty times. Make sure you all vote no!!
I have been told the AHDC trial at Hemel DO looks fairly scary. There are registering devices at:
All entrances and exits to the building.
At all toilet outer doors.
On all the inward sorting frames which have to be activated to see how long sorting is taking.
On all the walks individual frames.
That is why we need to vote NO. There is other stuff wrong with the agreement such as changes to redundancy payments etc.

I can't see that ever happening as it would cost way too much to implementCelgar wrote:Also where RM would like any and all other trials to end up such as not sorting sequenced mech mail into our sorting frames or even completely removing sorting frames from DOs.

RM has been quoted as saying the above will save 25 minutes. Of course aside from costing an awful lot of money and physical building space to implement it is not in any way practical to work from two or three bundles of mail at the same time. With shared walks it would be a physical impossibility. So we need to ask who is RM employing higher up that thinks up crackpot ideas like this ? They literally have no idea whatsoever what they are doing!SpacePhoenix wrote:I can't see that ever happening as it would cost way too much to implementCelgar wrote:Also where RM would like any and all other trials to end up such as not sorting sequenced mech mail into our sorting frames or even completely removing sorting frames from DOs.

Fixed Tues or fixed Wednesday, makes no difference as long as its fixed as the other day duty lengths will all add up to 39 hrs.korky wrote:so they are making a duty 9-5 now which will already be set up tough to achieve, then knowingly adding to it when homes pop up making it impossible within the time frame?davo04 wrote:A selection of duties are to be implemented in the office, with a start time of 9AM and a finish time of 5PM. This is in order to accomadate two new housing estates.
The manager claims there are other offices that already have these.
That said, does anyone on here have any experience of doing such a long duty?
anyone who's been in the job long enough will give this a wide berth, however new starters won't know, then there's covering days off,
knowing RM they'll make it a fixed tuesday off and intend to lapse it every week![]()
and an issue with another recent topic here of meal relief, this sort of duty would have to have a rest half way through so a 40 minute break will become 1hr due to travel back, who stands the 20mins?

You say it’s a massive no no now, however if there is a ‘Yes’ vote on the new agreement, won’t that mean that they can say that this is part of the new vague trials you agreed on?POSTMAN wrote:Contact your area rep, this should be a massive NO NO, there is no need to f**k around with times just because of increased delivery points.
