Vote to reject Royal Mail deal strikes can win more concessions

People keep talking about this end to people starting early, not taking breaks, rushing round and going home early.

C'mon who really believes RM are going to stick to that clause/agreement?

Divide and conquer that's what DO's run on and the staff fall for it hook line and sinker. Managers pander to the runners/rushers/early starters and dish out grief to anyone who does the job correctly. RM know this the CWU know this yet the B&H dished out gets worse year on year. RM sweep it under the carpet and deny it exists whilst the CWU just bury their heads in the sand. Whilst RM has its own managers ruling over B&H cases against its own managers nothing will ever change. They all piss in the same pot so they're not going to shop one of their own for fear of someone doing back to them.

As for getting an independent in to sort out offices, don't make me laugh. More chance of turkeys voting for Christmas.

I'd love to disagree with you but I fear, sadly, you're bang on there!

If the members are not doing the job properly, then the CWU has failed in its primary objective.
why should the cwu tell people to do this ? and the cwu are always telling staff to do the job right , but most are selfish sh***s , f**k you jack I'm alright , but if you look at the new agreement they have told r/m that there will be no working for free from staff and r/m have agreed that they want staff to work all paid hours and that's where the clocking in and clocking out comes in :thumbup , and its about time imo. would you see any other company paying people while there sat at home ?

is that what you think ? I think they may take stuff off the bigger dutys and give it to the flyers who start early , no breaks , and don't use the methods and finish an hour + everyday before there time, that will be r/m savings.

At the moment most managers turn a blind eye to the flyers who finish early because one or two often help out with walk-sorting and/or do overtime. True, if everything gets automated no ones going to be doing the walk-sorting but its finding the staff at short notice to do the overtime that is often the problem. I can see if extra work was given to those who finish early then they would obviously refuse and then they would then be forced to work to their time. Now that would be a great leveller, if only RM had the managers who were willing to take out the work that gets left behind. Now do I really think that is going to happen right here and now without the managers giving their posties any grief?? :hmmmm

So whats the point of even having rules if the majority won't stick to them?
I am totally confused by fishtanks quote. Am I misreading his observations,? Are they the reason for better T&Cs than our competitors offer ? If so I disagree.
Does he advocate we all owe a debt of gratitude to colleagues who cut corners to the detriment of other colleagues who are then subjected to intimidation ? Their actions keep costs down? If it was not for those good guys doing RM a favour, they would only be able to offer amazon conditions. !
I believe that the cost cutting at DOs mainly contribute to enhanced bonuses for managers, the like that Amazon do not match. That’s without mention of Moya’s bundle and her cohorts.
No, the main benefit of cost/corner cutting colleagues is that the provide the wedge required in delivery that allows intimidation at the level far to many good genuine colleagues experience on a daily basis.

You have your opinion, I have mine. We will see when/if it happens. You put more on a duty , that duty will slow down and cut off/claim. So the cycle begins again. If people think royal mail will use data in a way that cost them money or causes problems with getting the uso covered I think they will be upset when the reality kicks in. And the data might very well say the "bigger duty" isn't bigger it's just the person doing it is alot slower than what royal mail wants them to be

slower than what r/m want them to be ? can you please tell me what walking speeds are required by r/m with hct and lwt ? , so age , the amount of pkts and parcels , call rates , scans , duty distance doesn't come into play then , as the cwu said georoute will no longer be used , so no more doms putting in what they wanted to get what they wanted ,

Back on to the original topic I think that the CWU are obviously selling us woefully short on this agreement. So we get a pay rise. Why? The company have already told us a few months ago that we are overpaid. So one thinks, well how do Royal Mail possibly re-coup this money that they are giving us back?

And we got the answer in not so many words in this agreement.

A watered down pension, later start and finish times, bigger outdoor deliveries, fewer posties and PDA actuals. We might get a SWW but that doesn't mean to say that our working lives are going to be any easier or better does it?? For a company which makes big profits and whose shares have risen quite well I expected better from our Union.

Keepng it simple, the share price since this deal was announced tells you whos getting the better deal. If the fat cat in the city are happy the with the outcome its probably a good bet the minions affected within a company wont be

You can't put a gun to peoples heads and make them do it. You are told to do the job properly and if you choose not to then reap what you sow.
CUT OFF!!!
