And something tells me that the Union could probably have set the bar even higher on pay - as long as RM could introduce their automation and get rid of our sorting frames. The golden one wave of mech. The game changer that will undoubtedly lead to bigger duties and less postal staff required to deliver it. Even worse, I'm fearing the company will be using PDA actuals to track where we are and what we are doing. Theres a big problem with this. Remember when Royal Mail once said that we should be walking at least 4mph to keep up with delivery targets. This system was based on Pegasus, and we all know that was complete nonsense.
We don't want the Union leaders going on their publicity tour to "engage us" with what they have agreed because it has already been penned out. There is no 5th pillar to deal with bullying and harassment in offices, its just words that got said at a meeting.
So you think the pension we have is affordable and Royal Mail would never have got us working till 5 ..are you serious ?
Deadly serious. Modifying the pensions is all about profiting royal mail. They have seen other companies like British airways close their defined benefit schemes and decided to follow suit. Don't believe everything that royal mail tell you!! A lot of companies are in deficit because they took money out of the pension scheme.

Yeah I remember people saying we would never be doing one delivery and that it would never happen, then it did. Then there were the ones who said it would always be job and finish and then there were the ones who said we would never be doing lapsing , sorry mate if you honestly think RM plans of having us working 9-5 are pipe dreams then im afraid your deluded because make no bones about it its their end game .

Once the 35hr week comes in EVERY DO will start an hour later as the mail won't start being processed in MCs till an hour later from the current time and you'll probably get more of it on the later runs

it will just mean you will start later and if you come in earlier more fool you will not finish any earlier but who want's to work till 5 pm on Saturday? When the pillocks from above don't even do Saturdays and then only two days a week for two hours!

Royal Mail managers have been briefed not to discuss the CDC scheme, how do you explain something that doesn't exist, might never exist, has no legal framework and has no real like for like examples? What are members actually voting for, the transition scheme? Asking members to vote on half an agreement with little if any information is shameful.
100% correct. Yet reading the financial press it is apparently a done deal. Shares are rocketing because Royal Mail have eased the huge pension burden for a 7% pay rise over 2 years having kept the first of that years monies in their own account rather than ours. The financial press are wetting themselves over this as they see this as a way of wiping huge pension problems from their slate to ours.
