The trouble is RM managers only see what they want to see. They love the runners, who come in early, take no meal break then rush round their delivery and get it done in time, then when another postie does that duty as it should be done, comes in on time, takes a meal break then does the delivery as it should be done and cannot complete in time then they spit their dummy out. I can hear it now,so and so can do it,why cant you,you are not up to the job, theres no mail today etc etc.

I cannot believe some of those replies. You have a START TIME and a FINISH TIME. End of. If you've got too much cut off or claim docket. Wtf the problem.

Yes unless the working day goes to 7 hours or below then it will be 30 min break which is policy now & is remaining unchanged.eastie wrote:if the working day is less does the meal relief stay the same?

Problem is, some finish before their finish time and some have to argue with the Dom to finish ON their finish time.Navalron wrote:I cannot believe some of those replies. You have a START TIME and a FINISH TIME. End of. If you've got too much cut off or claim docket. Wtf the problem.

You have a start time and a finish time
Its only a good thing if you work indoors and everyone can see you are clearly working your hours. Its a bit different out on delivery because not only will we be 1. expected to do our duties in less time than before but also 2. there is more scope for making our duties even bigger and some might say that walking a half marathon a day is already enough.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Where have you got this information from?? The finish time will be your contractual hours!!! Anyrhing past your contractual hours is either 30 mins flex up (which has to be given back to you in the same week) or OT!!!!97gaz wrote:Because we will have agreed to absorb the work, the finish time will be when you put the last letter in, NOT when your contract hours are up.Navalron wrote:I cannot believe some of those replies. Because if you can’t do the amount of work in the time you get bullied and harrassed day in day out.gb93 wrote:Seems pretty simple doesn't it.Navalron wrote:I cannot believe some of those replies. But for some reason it aint
Most posties would rather just get it all delivered instead of taking on the stress of telling the dom they’re cutting off. One of the reasons why we have early starters, runners and non break takers.
Sad but true.

Not if they bank hours and i have no idea if thats what the union have agreed but what else could data capture be used for if not to cut o/t payments, and jobs in a revision.fed_up_postie wrote:Where have you got this information from?? No of course not. It's in the agreement.97gaz wrote: do you seriously think RM is going to let you hand back nearly an hours worth of mail when we get to a 35 hour week.
" From October 2018, a one-hour reduction to the working week (currently 39 hours). This is subject to: the deployment of the new last letter delivery time; and the completion of specific trials in the operation to help improve customer service and productivity. These include delivery methods and automated hours data capture.
From October 2019, a further one-hour reduction to the working week, subject to a joint evaluation of factors including ongoing efficiency, implementation of changes from trials in the operation and technological changes.
A commitment to move towards a 35-hour week by 2022. "
So due to the improved productivity and efficiency, there will be less work.
If there isn't less work, then no shorter working week.
