It's stock answers like this that just make me want to give up, does he honestly believe that an early starter will swipe in early?boardy wrote:Asked the question to terry pullinger, how can the union help us with early starters,he did say business looking to bring in swipe cards (clocking in)not sure it will help but we need to stop people coming in as its rampent across the country

Its the clocking out that matters unless you are paid to start early in which case you will need to clock in for that time, that will be a shock for the late early starters.fishtank wrote:It's stock answers like this that just make me want to give up, does he honestly believe that an early starter will swipe in early?boardy wrote:Asked the question to terry pullinger, how can the union help us with early starters,he did say business looking to bring in swipe cards (clocking in)not sure it will help but we need to stop people coming in as its rampent across the country

Unless there is going to be some numpty stood over the clocking in machine all day then these early idiots will just not swipe in until the start time but still be at the frames working for free like the MUGS they are.

I’ve worked for a few companies that have used swiping in Machines, they’re usually set up in such a way that if you swipe in early you won’t start being paid until your start time. If you swipe out early your only paid until that time, if you swipe out late your paid overtime in 15 minute increments. (ie, if your finish time is 3:00 and you swipe out at 3:14, you lose 14 mins pay. It may be just coincidence that the places I have worked have had the same setup or it could be how the machines are supplied, that I don’t know) Regardless, no ones going to come in to work for free when they see their wage slip at the end of the week. Atleast not to the extent that goes on in RM now anyway.fishtank wrote:It's stock answers like this that just make me want to give up, does he honestly believe that an early starter will swipe in early?boardy wrote:Asked the question to terry pullinger, how can the union help us with early starters,he did say business looking to bring in swipe cards (clocking in)not sure it will help but we need to stop people coming in as its rampent across the country

At least people will take their meal reliefs or they'll forfeit wagesThe Postman wrote:I’ve worked for a few companies that have used swiping in Machines, they’re usually set up in such a way that if you swipe in early you won’t start being paid until your start time. How will people forfeit wages in any way?
We haven't agreed to banking hours or any other pay related use of data capture, some of you guys have completely the wrong idea of what this is about.
It is savings driven pure and simple, a tool to reduce resource, anything that may cost RM money like stopping people working for free and enforcing meal relief isn't really going to be top of the agenda is it?
They don't care about individuals starting early, skipping breaks and finishing early, in fact they blatantly encourage it and will continue to do so because it gives them scope to cut hours. Stop dreaming and start thinking.

so your saying scanning in and scanning out and data capture that royal fail wont be interested if these posties scanning out the building at 13.00 and still on pay till 15.00 ? but someone who does the job right and claims over an hour excess everyday , the company will be happy with that then ? so I think the clowns that do the start early , skip breaks , and finish early might kop for more work to work here hours , happy daysfishtank wrote:How will people forfeit wages in any way?
