It does seem that Royal Mail has itself a little monopoly over the private mail, and it would be fair if it had a rival who could not only provide cheaper private mail services, but also deliver when they say they'll deliver. It'd be very nice to have the choice of who we send our ebay items/christmas cards/letters etc with.
Also, these rival companies could also open their own post offices wherever they like, without restriction.
Come on Virgin, MacDonalds, Coca Cola- there's a market for you out there!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
