Oh okay lets have a local agreement on your dog an garden
hands up all those who'll strike in defence of Grovers local dog an garden. Think I might BE underwhelmed ,feel free to disagree just talking practicallity you understand
If people are not prepared to stick up for each other what difference does it make whether we have a deal (any deal) or not? We might as well pack up and go home.

We the Union agreed staffing to traffic in 1985 (got £175 lump sum ring any bells) under Safeguarding the Future of the Mails Business aka Business Efficiency with the section on Revised Revision Procedures and compulsory Improved Working Methods bonus scheme. Within 3 years Royal Mail gave notice they were ceasing the bonus as we were taking them to the cleaners and Alan Johnson capitulated. Now that was a totally useless bosses man who couldn't negotiate his way out of a paper bag now part of the nu labor cabal of class traitors.

There is already a growing movement, which could remove the problem of getting suitable candidates to stand. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend last Saturday's meeting, to organise the CWU Rank and File Members, because the day had changed at short notice. But I have added my name to their List, and I suggest that you read about them, and consider doing the same.

I must admit that there is a single issue that I don't agree with them about. But that is a hell of a lot better than Hayes and Ward's attempt. Specifically: I don't agree with taking action if the vote doesn't go our way. In a Union, the majority decision of the Members must be supported. Even if we think that they were wrong to vote it in.

However. There is still time before the vote, to try to convince people to vote No. Not, because we tell them to. But, because most people haven't read the small print.

Every Member must vote in whichever way he/she feel is right. Not just for themselves, but for the whole Workforce, both current and future.

But we must do all we can, to point out where they are being decieved, so that they can make an informed decision. The best way to do this, is to refer them back to the original document. And steer them away from the propoganda.

There are some, who genuinely believe that this is a good deal. If they have come to that decision with their eyes open, and having read the whole deal. Then that is their decision, and it MUST be respected.

Personally, I think that the deal is a total sell out. Particularly for those who will join RM in the future. But there are too many people just jumping on one Bandwagon or the other.

Why hasn't the CWU distributed the WHOLE deal to everyone?
Not everyone is on the Internet. I have several Collegues who can't get this information, unless someone else gives it to them!

If we all speak to the waverers, and convince them to read the whole document, I think we will have no problem getting a No vote. Particularly, if they know that it is not only possible to reject the deal without neccessarily causing more Strikes (although obviously it is a possibility). But it is also possible to do something about the people at the top of the CWU. This is after all OUR UNION, and it's about time we took back control of it!

it's just another outlook on Reality!

Ill be leaving the union due to the bad handling of the dispute and the way the top boys sold us out...

I really dont see where my soon to be £12 per month is going (apart from funding the backstabbing Labour Party) or what good its doing...the union has proved beyond doubt that it is a shambles and a farce.

I'd rather have this in my pay packet each week than fund Billy Hayes £79k pa and be totally sold out.

Just imagine if we all did that, RM would rub it's hands with glee. No union representation in the workplace is what every employer dreams of, and believe me, they dream those dreams not for your benefit. :no no

I've heard so many takes on this subject in my time, and yes I know where you're coming from, but I'd suggest they wouldn't have a leg to stand on
if they had an accident because they took it upon themselves to work in their own time.

2hrs ? .......... A day? ............. They are prats.

It's a 'grey area' lads. Our H&S Rep has been told by the DUM that they are insured from the minute they set foot inside the place. The proof of this pudding will be when one of the daft sods has an accident and seriously hurts him/her self. The sooner, the better!

just recieved my letter from Bill and Dave advising me to accept the deal.

a pay rise in line with inflation that will take two years to replace money lost
during strike action.

a lump sum of £175 before deductions.£400 if you agree to local stitch ups.

flexibility will come in when the smoke has cleared only under a different name.

later starts... oh...to late you missed that one billy boy.

every local office to review changes that should not have come in .bollocks.

monthly pay door to door pensions ???????????????????

some of your members only went on strike to resolve the above and you have
shat on them from a great height.

sleep well :cuppa

They are only insured IF they sign on,if the sheet aint there for them to sign, they are NOT insured!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Sorted! The sheet is never out in our office until the DUM realises it isn't there. That's usually about five minutes after the official starting time.

Go on, you daft sods! Trip up on some strapex and break your necks! :dance
