Talking nonsense, like you say just fobbing you off.
The augmented payments refer to IHR and EVR.

So, we are going into a worse pension that isn't even legal yet, clocking on and off, potentially losing thousands in VR or ill health retirement payments, changing the way we pick annual leave, getting a below inflation pay rise. But we are working 12 minutes less a day. What's not to like ? :nana

i got onto the area rep since Dingo didn't reply. he says the MTSF is totally unchanged. he says page 12 is on about payments for IHR and EVR with pension. these payments come out of the pension pot. they are reviewing redundancies with pension, and there is 2 kinds of IHR. one with lump sum, the second with lump sum and pension. payment for straight redundancy remains unchanged. seems misleading in their brief on page 12 though. I would like a ''laymans' explanation. fish?

I did answer there is no change to MTSF. It must have been lost in various threads , I have been asked a lot of questions on here and by PM and I do try and respond but the day job is rather busy as well.

Talk about clouding the issue.
Yes the MTSF is still unchanged at present  , what page 12 is going on about is them RM and CWU coming to some agreement about getting rid of the additional benefits of people leaving the business which comes under the collective bargaining of the MTSF agreement. They have been on about getting rid of it now for sometime.

when people leave under IHR there are indeed two types of pension , one where you are allowed to take your full pension straight away as your unable to work at all for anybody, it is rare for OHS to agree to this , the second and most used is IHR with lump sum, this is when the business believes that you are no longer able to work for RM but maybe at some stage be fit to work elsewhere in some capacity, they offer under the MTSF a lump sum payment of 34 weeks pay plus pilon(pay in lieu of notice) which depends on how long you've worked for RM up to 12 weeks) they also pay you any holidays you've not used. Your pension gets deferred until pensionable age.

Under the MTSF when they want shot of people they offer EVR which the last time was offered was 104 weeks and members had their pension enhanced as well so was well worth it , Some of them where getting £40,000 for going, again Redundancy at present is unchanged so yes the Rep is correct in that regard, what he isn't correct in is that it will remain for long. Do you really think that this company is going to keep paying out £40.000 on EVR when they can compulsory make people redundant for the maximum of £14,670.

Don't feel pressured that you have to answer the PM's if you are busy, in fact I would rather members not PM you in mass as it's not fair on you.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

well the reps been adamant its NOT changing and advised me to email HQ and ask them directly to get this clarified. I must admit I agree with general Mannerheim, they are NOT going to continue paying 40 grand in evr when they will be able to get rid for 14 and a half.!! its in black and white on page 12 so I'm going to do exactly as the rep says and email the big guns for an answer to this caper. I will post on here if I get a reply.
