Why do I feel underwhelmed? Yes we delivered a fantastic ballot result ages ago, but for what? 'Concessions'. Later finish times, a pension scheme still to be ratified by a Tory government, nothing concrete on bullying and harassment of staff, pay deal below inflation.

they never mentioned the agreement with RM about attacking the MTSF 'augmented benefits' payments.

Not a pension expert and never will be
But a company that made that much profit and paid out that amount in dividends can't keep the current pension scheme open to current members..
Then put new entrants on new scheme.
Ano it's a new pension scheme for everyone.
But wouldn't this be the best plan
As I've stated this is not my strong point
And where listen to royal mail board saying that they can keep previous scheme open.
Any posties clued up on this to help me get my head around this from a company that makes that much profit???

They say one pension for all,, but if you havnt been employed for 5years you don't go into the new pension so you still have a two tier pension system,,, are we going in circles ?

No of course they don't. And the PEC member wouldn't answer the question either when put to him on Facebook, because they was hoping that it wouldn't be noticed.daveyeff wrote:they never mentioned the agreement with RM about attacking the MTSF 'augmented benefits' payments.
This deal is a turd. These muppets still are pandering to Moya and the like. On the cusp of something? Yes on the cusp of shafting your members with lies and deceitful ambivalent legalised claptrap.

Is that actually the case though? I know it's the (proposed) case that if you've been employed for 5 years you can switch into the Cash Balance scheme, however have they actually said its "once the defined-ambition scheme is up and running new starters will spend 5 years in the DC before they're allowed to transfer"?spen wrote:They say one pension for all,, but if you havnt been employed for 5years you don't go into the new pension so you still have a two tier pension system,,, are we going in circles ?
ETA: Of course if it is the case that new starters will be in the DC scheme for the first 5 years then actually I might regard that as a good thing - as it would mean the DC scheme would remain open, and I could therefore remain a member of it rather than transferring to the defined-ambition scheme. Now technically the latter should be better due to larger employer contributions if nothing else, however I'd like to see more details before I make any firm decision.

Murder am on the two and happy with that.
Don't want sound selfish but should only be the new entrants on the new scheme.
Then when they start they no what there getting.
And previous workers still stay same.
Stop paying out massive dividends till pensions correct themselves.
Royal mail are happy for new entrants on less conditions what's the big deal now with pensions to get everyone on the one.
To give shareholders more money ..
There's 120,000 members
And we all need to stand up for this
MASSIVE VOTE FROM ME AND MY OFFICE

a massive yes in support the agreement
they have got be f***ing kidding
well seeing they are not on the front line w*****s
cwu have conceded on every aspect they were fighting against
pension still to be confirmed
later start times
pipeline which the cwu wanted earlier not later
no mention of workloads
b&h
attendance procedure to be discussed after agreement endorsed ffs that was supposed to have been off the table
rm have gained everything they wanted piece by piece
this so called agreement will have every delivery office in the country out on unofficial action more than ever
absolute waste of time
royal mail delayed and delayed and cwu needed movement so have caved in
pec and cwu hq should all resign for failing in their duty of care to members
this agreement is worse than the rm proposals we balloted on

It's hard not to be encouraged by what the CWU are trying to achieve and I realise it would be terrible publicity if they were to acknowledge concerns about the agreement before the vote.
Equally I realise it would have been terrible publicity if the joint agreement document had used the words Bullying and Harassment and acknowledged it goes on by managers. It appears nowhere. And you can't adequately use the phrase 'Change the culture' to mask this.
BITE THE BULLET AND ACKNOWLEDGE IT!!
Additionally, if they were to get rid of the following phrases in the proposal and replace them with guarantees I would be a little more confident:
We will look at
Where applicable
If necessary
Where appropriate
I HAVE read the agreement proposal and have read alot of forum threads, if not all since the agreement came out.
The only thing left now is to listen in at the rep meeting and then vote. Just hoping for some MASSIVE tweaks here and there.

Can't see what they think they have achieved. The only thing I can see is the shorter working week, which was about the lowest priority item - even then it isn't guaranteed as it depends on other things, and if it does come in the workload will be the same. Leading no doubt to more pressure on staff (or b&h as I see it) to get impossible workloads done.
Keep patting yourself on the backs at the top, at least you think you deserve it. And don't worry about explaining it to me, I can see it for what it is.
