You're left feeling its all good on paper but like everything else with the RM planning department it'll fall way short of expectations with the workforce left to pick up the pieces.SpacePhoenix wrote:There was a bit somewhere about review of machine equipment (bottom of page 15 of the agreement), where potentially all machines are under review, so possibly could that end up with some MPUs reverting back to being normal DOs and the sequencing being done purely in MCs?Sugar wrote:I'm reading this as the later finishing DO's will be the ones with CSS machines in their office.

Doesn't the proposal/agreement state we will be given this information 'three months before deployment' ? That will be after we have voted and a long way from now.POSTMAN wrote:No doubt the said list will be made public as soon as possible.Dingo wrote:For 1023 Delivery Offices there will be no change to finish times as a result of the LAT all be it they will have to introduce the SWW.
For 123 Offices they will move from 1 minute to 15 minutes and also introduce the hour off the working week.
For 70 Offices they will move from 16 mins up to 30 mins and also introduce the hour off the working week
For 51 Offices there would be a change of 31 to 45 but this is capped at 30 mins and will be overseen by National Level to see if this could be reduced.
Divisional reps will be provided copies over the next couple of weeks of affected offices

Isn't it 1530 for town/residential walks and 1630 for rural deliveries ?? That is theoretically last letter delivery of course - at Christmas, and with runup getting earlier each year maybe November as well, it could take longer.fishtank wrote:All offices will have a last letter of 3.30pmTrueBlueTerrier wrote:No you read it wrong. Just like all offices have a last letter of 3pm now.
Some offices will finish later.

Cannot agree with you on this as the offices who DO NOT have the CSS machine have to wait for their mail to arrive from offices that do have the CSS machines, hence they will have the later finishing time.

It makes more sense if you're sequencing mail for multiple offices to start sequencing mail for the furthest away first (longer transit time) and then work back the way to your own office (zero transit time).walkthewalk wrote:Sugar wrote:I'm reading this as the later finishing DO's will be the ones with CSS machines in their office.

It needs to be made clear which offices will have a later start time BEFORE the vote. Some days I'm asking family to pick up my own kids from school as time is really tight on the long days. (Wed/Thur)

Think all DOs will start 12 mins later with each hour off the working week. Some offices will have even later start times to accommodate later finish times. Don't know which yet but apparently we will before we vote (see above posts). Large majority of offices won't be changing at the moment but can't see that lasting long. Would suggest people think about that before thinking I'm all right Jack and voting this in. Unless someone can convince me otherwise I'm leaning towards no as this is a dealbreaker for me. Shame cos rest of the deal looks decent.wookie wrote:It needs to be made clear which offices will have a later start time BEFORE the vote. Couldn't say other than its a huge MC so you'd expect plenty of engineers to be in there.SpacePhoenix wrote:Does your local MC use their IMPs or iLSMs for sequencing? We get our mail off last by some margin as all the other satellite DO's get theirs first and we know they get out on to the streets before us.walkthewalk wrote:Cannot agree with you on this as the offices who DO NOT have the CSS machine have to wait for their mail to arrive from offices that do have the CSS machines, hence they will have the later finishing time.

I have been told this by our DOM before I think. Therefore with the LAT or with other operational reasons I think the DOs that are closest or maybe actually in the same sites as MCs will have the longest amount of time added to their start times in the morning. It sounds 'world turned upside down' but I believe its the case.fishtank wrote:It makes more sense if you're sequencing mail for multiple offices to start sequencing mail for the furthest away first (longer transit time) and then work back the way to your own office (zero transit time).walkthewalk wrote:Sugar wrote:I'm reading this as the later finishing DO's will be the ones with CSS machines in their office.

Doesn't quite work like that as you've got to factor in batches which have got firms on themfishtank wrote:It makes more sense if you're sequencing mail for multiple offices to start sequencing mail for the furthest away first (longer transit time) and then work back the way to your own office (zero transit time).walkthewalk wrote:Sugar wrote:I'm reading this as the later finishing DO's will be the ones with CSS machines in their office.

Only if they pay £4000 for time delivery virtually no one pays that these days unless your in London town!SpacePhoenix wrote:Doesn't quite work like that as you've got to factor in batches which have got firms on themfishtank wrote:It makes more sense if you're sequencing mail for multiple offices to start sequencing mail for the furthest away first (longer transit time) and then work back the way to your own office (zero transit time).walkthewalk wrote:Sugar wrote:I'm reading this as the later finishing DO's will be the ones with CSS machines in their office.
