I assuming this new pay deal when actioned will change what you might already received from your Final salary part of the pension? I started getting my NRA60 last week so hope it might be increased if this 5% deal goes through. Any confirmation on this would be good!

If you are already in receipt of NRA60 you will get notification of what your revised pension will be in March and first new payment in April. It will not be 5%. That relates to the payrise. Pensions are normally linked to the rate of inflation and can be different for pre 87 accruals due to the change in the State Earnings Related Pension at that time.

This is the most toxic working environment I've ever worked in and year on year it gets worse. Then you add in the university graduates with more qualifications than days actually doing the job and lazy incompetent management and its a train-wreck every week with OPG's baring the brunt for daring to do the job properly and cut off. Make no wonder stress is putting so many on sick.

I know about the index linking in April. But as I have only just taken my NRA60 pension in January 2018 would assume that any increase to the basic wage payment should change the amount used in my final salary part of my pension. As that would be based on my 2017/18 salary.

I would imagine that as you are already in receipt of this pension, your final salary has been calculated in order to pay you your benefits. You would need to look at your pension information to see how final salary is calculated. In some final salary schemes they take the salary for the last 3 years (sometimes 5) and use the best year.

Yes, the pay deal is backdated to October 1st at 5% of basic pay, overtime and allowances.
