It was 60 ten years ago and proper final salary ie 60% of your income so 60 to 67 in ten years maybe 74 soon it's not the future even I envisaged 20 years ago such a waste of my time an effort would have done better selling drug's looking at the places I deliver too!crazyclacy wrote:Hopefully not a yes vote as you said , in another 2 years they will come back again as you stated ....

Nuts
Hopefully we can get a no vote,
In the new agreement still same over time rate.
This company runs on over time that should have been a major point in talks.
For new overtime pay rates

Im 43 and would say fit,
But let's all get serious here.
At 67 look at our family members around us at this age and friends people of same ages.
Out of 10 only maybe 1 could do the job and yous are going to vote for that.
Nuts nuts nuts

I will vote 'No' because;
1. possible later start and finishing times.
2. SWW will impact PT delivery staff
3. PT - still not getting FT holiday pay even though some of us work a lot more than our contracted PT hours.
4. ( and this is the clincher for me ) - we were promised 1 pension for all, yet still the union are happy for recent and new-starters to spend a minimum of 5 years on the inferior scheme with much lower company contributions compared to the 'old guard'. Union seems to think this fine ! Why do we get 10% contributions, yet the people fortunate enough to have been in the DB scheme get 15.6% ?

You don't need to be a rep but if you could organise this kind of resistance you should be anyway good luck don't think anyone would say this is the greatest deal I have big objections to it for starters. 1 PAY is an Ok deal if the implementations of the Shorter Working Week are enforced 2 SSW as above but last time we had a reduction it took ages and some were on 41.5 some on 40 and others on 39 hours crazy but true. 3 Pensions well this is a big disappointment not just for me but for all of us and a bigger disappointment the younger you are, to me it is not a sustainable scheme in the long run because of staff turnover! 4 The pipeline RM needs to compete with DPD TNT DHL plus others so LAT's this will push back the whole system hence finish times while for some this is not a problem for others it is a major problem the job has changed over the course of time but this is a big change cannot say how bad this is it is and individual concern but could mean growth if it is done right! So is it a deal worth recommending NO because the fifth pillar was never in the foundations it was neglected not thought of but this pillar would have made this deal a ground breaker but nobody listens to the workers or membership this pillar would be called Dignity and Respect in the workplace, It would encompass all Bullying Harassment non payment of wages and all grievances that can never again be swept under the carpet these negotiations should have this as the backbone of the agreement as such it was never mentioned and as such I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS AGREEMENT VOTE NO!aiden01 wrote:Well if your a rep convince the members in your office to vote NO.crazyclacy wrote:Nuts

On pensions, moving NRA up to 67 means they will not need to pay out so much on so many because most will need medical retirement before that age, which as I understand it would always be less than a full pension. I don't understand all the ins and outs of the jargon, but I don't want my pension determined by the vagaries of gambling with stocks. I am an employee that deserves a predictable steady pension. Gambling with your income is for people that can afford to lose it, like company executives.
The pay deal is pathetic, and actually is still a pay cut in real terms when inflation is factored in.
SWW. why do the Union insist on asking for this, this is not something that benefits us necessarily, it plays right into the employers hand, meaning we will have to work harder. We have to be so grateful for this "concession" that we have to accept being tagged like a criminal when you are at work.
So just on these main points alone its a definite no from me.
