Help required,
Have been told that vacant duties will no longer be advertised in our mail centre,
The reason given for this is that the duties could be taken by opg's in local delivery units.
The Mail centre is lapsing Duties every week.
I don't see how a vacant DUTY could be taken by an opg from a DO.
If the mail centre had created BRAND NEW jobs then yes I can understand that as an increase in personnel would be required.
At this moment in time people on the float/spare have no chance of getting a permanent duty whilst people on a duty have zero chance of moving shift.
can this be correct??

I can only think of impending revisions leading to excess staff in DO's that could fill the vacancies and not lose contract hours by moving to your place
