a quick calculation

new ot rate after 5%=£11.54 ish
new hourly rate after 5%= £11.10 ish
New hourly rate after 1 hour reduction=£11.39

So the overtime rate is 15p an hour more!! or about 1.3% .....what happened to time and a half

Realistically you're probably looking at a minimum of 1hr later starts in EVERY DO. With the shorter working week, once it's 7 hr days in inward MCs then chances are that more work will go to DOs on wave 2, and less on wave 1. I can't see the LAT stuff even being touched in some MCs as by the time it arrives, there might not be the time to process it. Not every MC will have the space to leave their inward setup as they might need the same area for their 2C

A minimum entitlement according to a duty's contracted hours 318 on any given day, but extra 10min entitlement if overtime on the day will take you past 7/9/11/13 etc. hours.

Depending upon how the reduction of hours is split, it could well mean that full time staff only get 30mins meal relief on a Tuesday, if they complete within contracted hours.

If the LAT "stuff" isn't touched i think the MC manager will be looking for a new job

the whole point of these later start/finishes is to get this work from major customers, lose that and we may as well forget it

Im guessing if the lat stuff isnt getting touched (the product thats driving these changes) someone will be getting their arses kicked and if your proved right and non of it gets delivered next day they might as well sack it off and carty on as normal. If nearly every office will need to start an hour later then we need to be told because im guessing alot will vote no and get this deal rejected

So if someone works 35 hours or less now then they really do get a 5 % pay rise? Part timers especially getting better pay rise than full time because they wont lose an hour a year? I understand the hourly rate is all the same but if full timers losing hours than the pay rise wont be proportionately as large as part timers?

As long as they will fit in a combo not a problem, loads of volunteers for a drive to mc to get off the sorting or double prep

We will have to wait and see how it's going to work but my guess is letters will become less of a priority at MCs much like what happened at Christmas

double prep ffs
i had to box in 4 roads this morning
3 roads mech and d2ds which was 2 full trays each
and my own

Doesn't matter if the LAT stuff is letters or parcels, if it don't arrive in time it won't get touched

Who's is on about stuff that doesn't arrive on time? Obviously if it goes past a cutoff time the customer cannot complain
