Let's all face it the machines are s**t now when they get as old as the van's and break down every five minutes as they don't service them properly but more than this is the way they treat staff half of the full time staff have left only the oldest remain probably because a pension is in the offing or the MTFS agreement other than that the good ship Royalmail is more like the Marie Celeste god even the management is thinking of jumping ship!

I tried telling management about the second case but got told "Oh that just happens, there's nothing we can do!" ... An explanation that completely failed to explain why, if it's so random, it only happens on that round and only for mail for that company and not randomly to any call on any round in the office! However given the quality of the response I've decided not to even waste my time asking about the other case!

Try and get a look if you can at the A+ for the problem walks, see if it looks right?

All the CSS machines around the country must be due a major service and overhaul by now. afaik the design life span of any machine is about 10 years

Bit like delivery postman and the van he uses but what is the life cycle of stale and abusive management?

Is it difficult to tell up from down while operating a machine?

No "fish"it isn't difficult but when your "manager" tells you to run the mail upside down,backside foremost
or any which way you can to get it through rather than have rejects go to the manual area because there isn't
enough staff then you run it over and over again, mech staff know the proper way of running the mail a lot
of "managers" dont, have come across quite a few who dont seem to believe there is such a thing as a manual
letter simply because as one long serving "manager" told us one day "if it's in the mech area then it's mech".....idiot

I have just reread the initial OP on this one. One line mentions something about removing sorting frames. Is that do with the idea of having all the mail presorted and in sequenced trays which then would just get loaded into vans then delivered as usual ??

RM would need to replace all existing machines first for that to have any chance of happening
