Waiting list
Feeling very frustrated at the moment. I am currently into my last month on the 3 month waiting list. I applied for a job with the next closest delivery office and had the email to say congratulations and complete the advanced security checks which I did. Later that day had a phone call to say sorry email wasn't meant for you someone else has first refusal on it. He got the job and I've had email to say I'm on a 6 month waiting list, can this be right? Is annoying as my local DO is desperate for staff as I have a contact there but the manager is on sick leave and the stand in obviously can't apply for more staff. Starting to feel very disheartened that I'm going to miss out thru no fault of my own.

Relatively limited with delivery offices near me only got 3 to choose from. One has just turned me down as someone has been waiting longer.
My last email said I was on a 6 month waiting list which I hadn't heard of, but there is no link in that email for me to click on and apply just the link in my original email which was for 3 months and expires in 3 weeks time. Is there a 6 month waiting list???

It's probably sounds stupid but it was the job that caught my imagination and I believe it's a Job that would suit me down to the ground. Fed up being stuck behind a desk and would love to be out and about. Obviously other reasons come into it but ultimately believe you have to enjoy what you do as you are working a long time in this life. Will look at other options obviously if this fails but my heart lies with getting this job.

Absolutely! I did my paper round in the 80's and the only other people I saw in the pre-dawn were the postman and the milkman. Having always been an early riser (yes even as a teenager lol) I knew this was the job for me. Unfortunately I was pressured in to a "sensible" office job after leaving school but now I've finally got in I'm loving it! Really hope it works out for you tooLfc1972 wrote:It's probably sounds stupid but it was the job that caught my imagination and I believe it's a Job that would suit me down to the ground.
