all that and still nothing in writing or set in stone ? and also remember it was also the 90 % that was willing to walk out in October also made the company think again , lets look at where the last agreement got us , B&h is rife , unmanageable workloads , all year lapsing , cutting staff , etc , lets hope and pray that this one is different then mate .dingo wrote:What makes me laugh is the negative comments : like no further forward well since November Royal Mail have moved on all the following :
There is going to be one pension scheme
All pay will be pensionable including for the majority of staff who were in the Pops scheme and will have all their pay in the future pensionable !
There will be a genuine pay rise flowing through to all pay and pensionable allowances instead of a lump sum.
There is an hour off the working week and for part timers this is the equivalent of 2.6% pay rise.
Royal Mail did not want to extend the legal guarantees so they can franchise , sell off parts of the country or outsource work ! No they are !
They wanted to cancel all the flight which carried Mail to enable early starts now they are not !
They wanted a 9-5 Delivery Window now they don’t !
They wanted everyone to move to a last letter of 15:30 now they don’t !
They wanted to walk ownership and now they don’t
They wanted teamworking so you cover sick and annual leave and now they don’t !
They wanted to have automated Data Capture which records every minute indoors and what your doing and now they don’t !
And you say there has been no progress ?
Get real these are serious negotiations with a privatised company who wants to cut cost and the CWU on behalf of you are pushing them back !
Keep the faith support the CWU

This needs sorting fast and before any deal is agreed or "put into words".TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Additionally our National Officers are aware that Royal Mail have to also agree to resolve the problems of resourcing and changing the culture within the workplace.
This has been even more highlighted since Christmas where a combination of high vacancy levels , high sick leave and the limits of the working time Directive Agreement has led to an increase in the use of casuals , more managers on delivery , work rolling from one day to the next and an increase in unfair treatment of staff.
The CWU are meeting Royal Mail over the next 3 days to concentrate on getting a solution on Resourcing and culture. Further talks are planned for next week.
It's the unions biggest failure to its members the way they've allowed RM's management to get away with such disgraceful treatment towards staff since park and loop was introduced and bullying skyrocketed because of badly done revisions.
I for one won't vote yes to anything till the union sort that out.

to right , people don't go to work to be treated like s**t with the increased and not achievable workloads , the best way to cure some of this is to take grievances and b&h cases away and outside of royal mail because the way these are dealt with are a joke and how some of these managers still have jobs shows .Sugar wrote:This needs sorting fast and before any deal is agreed or "put into words".TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Additionally our National Officers are aware that Royal Mail have to also agree to resolve the problems of resourcing and changing the culture within the workplace.

The other thing to add on the Pipeline is that progress has been made so that the the vast majority of staff will keep current finish times within any final agreement agreement.

Why do you go over the finishing times now ? Your very Milliant on here why don’t you stop it ?
There is an agreed delivery span of between 14:00 and 15:00 for towns and cities and apart from voluntary overtime no one should be going past that on delivery.
The hour off the working week works out at 12 mins a day off a 5 day duty and progrsss has been made to ensure the vast majority will not have to finish later.
If you are going past your time or you have different span unless your a rural Delivery than you are allowing Royal Mail to break the Agreement. Why don’t you stop them doing that ?

Dingo, I cannot understand why this does not apply to all staff. Surely if all staff are not treated the same then this amounts to discrimination. If some members are happy to start later then that is a different matter altogether.dingo wrote:The other thing to add on the Pipeline is that progress has been made so that the the vast majority of staff will keep current finish times within any final agreement agreement.
Personally speaking and having gone through the agreements of 2007,2010 and I think the last was 2013? this appears the most professional approach that the union have taken in any dispute. However as said by another, this will mean absolutely nothing if in this agreement there are no clauses in it which categorically protect individuals and the workforce as a whole against the systemic bullying and harassment by managers that is inherent in Royal Mail culture. There must also be clauses that deal with the way Royal Mail deal with Grievances and B&H cases. The individual is made to feel to be the problem and the length that these are drawn out cause unnecessary stress and in many cases illness to the claimant. The CWU have neglected this situation for far too long and it now needs to be sorted once and for all. There should be no longer hiding behind delaying this for future discussions. No agreement unless this is sorted within this agreement.
