No contract, induction date Monday
After a lot of worrying and posting I finally got my welcome pack and the attachments (uniform, p46, 48 hours etc) it also said that my contract would arrive approx 1 week before. Annoyingly it hasn't arrived so I don't know what to do. Should I print off the other forms and welcome email and take them to the induction day? Or turn up with no forms?

No definitely print off all the forms they asked for. Despite what the email says the contract tends to follow after you actually start.

I appear to have hit a snag with the trouser leg size, they offer 27" 29" 31" and UH. I'm a 34" inside leg...
Anyone else had a similar thing? What trousers did you manage to order?

Just ask for the bits they cut off the 31" legs to make the 27" legs & you just stitch them on simples
Anything you've not printed off will be given to you on your induction day, most on my induction day turned up with nothing, best thing you can take on the day is a drink & a sandwich.

Just ring the number on the uniform form you were sent. You can order most of your kit on the day you started, as per instructions sent with all the forms from HR (you have to then wait 6 weeks to order final bits of kit). I started mid November and now have everything through. No need to go through manager or anything.Islander wrote:I think we all went to the induction thinking we would be ordering our uniforms, dont count on it I still havne't been able to order mine and now starting my fourth week.

Day 1 order (I rang this in after my first day at the delivery office)
- 5 shirts (polo or other type - can be a mix of both)
- 2 pairs of trousers or shorts
- 1 fleece top
- 1 pair of shoes/boots (i took the Anvils which are ok but not much grip in icy weather)
Week 6 order:
- 1 additional pair of trousers/shorts
- storm coat
- red lightweight kagool jacket
- 1 x hat (choice of beanie/wide brim/cap)
- belt (although it's a 1 size fits all and almost wraps twice around my waist!)
- I was also offered another pair of shoes/boots by person on phone (wasn't expecting to as not mentioned on the uniform sheet so not sure if that was correct or guy was trying to offload some stock as I got sent some garish clown type black/red slipper type shoes which i'll be selling to the local circus

Superb...least now i know to get a decent rain coat, knowing you have to wait six weeks for a providing storm jacket.

In our office they had a few old storm jackets spare so I borrowed one of those until I could order my own (it was a bit tatty but did the job!)Pro8186 wrote:Superb...least now i know to get a decent rain coat, knowing you have to wait six weeks for a providing storm jacket.

2 pairs of trousers or shorts on the first order? They only sent me 1 pair of trousers haha. I'll have to query that when I ring for my 6 week uniform
