Everybody in early, everybody responsible for prepping their own duty. All full timers on IPS. All overtime added to end of shift, unlimited. A couple of extra vans, dedicated packet drivers.

Not too bad, but two problems.

1. The packet drivers leaving packets or arguing over packets. 'You park next to this one', or you are going anyway' . . SO WHAT? You are in to do packets so do them, cut off if your work load is too much.

2. Van share duty. Partner makes pathetic attempt at prepping. Any slot either side of the correct one is OK by him. Doesn't read addresses correctly 2, The Street going into 21 The Street. Can't seem to to tell the difference between 3 and 8. 18 goes into 13, 23 goes into 28 etc. Can't understand the principles of rubber bands and bundles, can't pack a bag, etc etc etc.

Very frustrating, spoilt Christmas.

Same here, it took about 3 days before getting the "that pkts a bit small" type comments, so although they were on a piece of piss cushy number for Xmas they decided they couldn't be arsed to even do that, offered to swap but that fell on deaf ears !

The Hell before Christmas

Post by Jimbo2017 »

70+ hr weeks every week.

3~5 hrs [3hr PHG, 2hr jobs for the manager] in the cage every morning before taking out my round, usually having other blokes finishing their rounds before I took mine out.

Manager won't let me transfer out of there, I'm thinking of giving notice on tuesday. I'd rather work at Tesco.
