Royal Mail allegedly replaced the erotic item's original packaging with a clear bag after it became damaged

A CARER was mortified when her uncle hand-delivered a penis-shaped stress ball she bought as a secret Santa gift - as it arrived in clear packaging.

Georgia Mellor from Widnes, Cheshire ordered the erotic stress ball from eBay on December 5 and assumed it would be discreetly parcelled.

But after the original packaging had become damaged, Royal Mail allegedly replaced it with a clear bag, which exposed the X-rated gift.

Georgia said she was horrified when the item turned up at her brother's birthday party. But she was shocked to learn her uncle, the local postman delivered the gift.

She said: "This is something that my family will always keep bringing up. They'll never let me live this down. This kind of thing could only happen to me.

"It is typical that it was at my brother's birthday. I was hoping that it wasn't my uncle that delivered it but it definitely was. He delivered my brother's birthday card at the same time.

"He found it funny. It was so embarrassing. He just took the mick out of me. My brother found it funny too."

She said her friends, who have a similar sense of humour to her, have urged her to contact Royal Mail saying "there should be a man attached to it."

A Royal Mail spokesman said: "Royal Mail would like to apologise to the customer for any embarrassment caused.

"We process and deliver millions of items of mail each day without incident, however items of mail can occasionally arrive open either because they are poorly packaged or damaged as they pass through our machine processes.

"Every item of mail is important to us and all our postmen and women are vigilant for open mail. When we do spot items that are open or damaged, they are re-sealed and placed in a protective bag prior to delivery to the customer.

"In cases concerning confidential or sensitive material, items should be placed in a Royal Mail envelope so the contents are not visible and then placed in the protective bag. We apologise that in this case the correct procedure was not followed."
