Yes if he had been truthful and said he'd cocked up and needed the OP in as it would really dig him out of a hole, most posties, if they are able to, would have probably helped him out.

However, with the constant pressure, unrealistic duties, no give and all take, all the goodwill has gone from this job and being treated like he was isn't going to make it come back.

Handy hint for lucking managers, tell the truth when you cock up be honest, and treat your OPGs like adults, not kids and they'll do a lot more for you than if you continue in the current and corporate mandated method of bullying.

Me personally, I would raise it with your rep and Manager. It then draws that line from being a easy target and safe in the knowledge your manager won’t try it on again
