Exactly that's a myth peddled by unscrupulous managers, going sick does not affect your bonus, except for the overtime pro rata payment for P/T that TBT has just explained.Creditshampoo wrote:What has going sick got to do with your bonusJustanotherstar wrote:Yeah and then everyone would go sick the next dayNigel1505 wrote:Wouldn't it be decent for RM to pay it a week or two before Xmas, so those who do with it, could use it for presents etc. Doesn't matter to me, but I do think of those who have more commitments than me this time of year.![]()

Well obviously you cannot get a new boiler for £200, but the Christmas Bonus will certainly help with paying for it...citypostie wrote:If you can get a new boiler for £200 you're doing well! I'm fairly sure if you go sick in the two or three weeks before Christmas you don't receive the bonus, or maybe part of the bonus or the second 100 pounds, the following year.mickeymacca wrote:Exactly that's a myth peddled by unscrupulous managers, going sick does not affect your bonus, except for the overtime pro rata payment for P/T that TBT has just explained.Creditshampoo wrote:What has going sick got to do with your bonusJustanotherstar wrote:Yeah and then everyone would go sick the next dayNigel1505 wrote:Wouldn't it be decent for RM to pay it a week or two before Xmas, so those who do with it, could use it for presents etc. Doesn't matter to me, but I do think of those who have more commitments than me this time of year.![]()

Nope.Celgar wrote: I'm fairly sure if you go sick in the two or three weeks before Christmas you don't receive the bonus, or maybe part of the bonus or the second 100 pounds, the following year.
You only lose some of the bonus if you are on reduced pay, or not being paid. That's why you lose it when striking.
The extra bonus in January is normally any due for Part Timers who have worked overtime in the last 2 weeks of Christmas because the Pay Roll can't process it as per the schedule.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
