i'm just going by various threads on here when the 9-5 vote became known. they were quoted as saying there would be no point in any more strikes as the talks had been bitter and they had taken things as far as they possibly could. i gather from this that they had given up the fight from that point

I don't think your interpretation is misplaced - they'd achieved what they set out to do and it wasn't anything to do with moving our cause forward.

What happened to the 35 hr week, national average pay, family friendly environment blah de blah - strange how things change when they get the vote.

Strangely enough I do agree with them on the point of them not being able to negotiate anything else!

I believe the union got what it wanted to acheive, namely: still having (some) power in the eyes of RM, albeit whittled down!

We r all going to get a chance to VOTE when the papers turn up whether you vote NO or YES there r going to be

so when the ballot papers for pensions come out we'll have the chance to vote no won't we as will our colleagues in other businesses in RM group. So there will be no need to say i told you so because i'll also vote no against any pensions proposal changes.[/quote]

Just heard from the horses mouth if you vote yes then RM pension reform is part of the deal. I fear you've been hoodwinked.

Not really hoodwinked - the union stated it had been decoupled but in fact had been rubber stamped - check the joint statement, it's all there.

If my Union states something has been decoupled I expect it to be seperate to the proposals I am about to vote on. Is that too much to ask.
