The word on the street is the pension scheme will stay open for a further 2 years and the lump sum is now £500 with a 2 per cent pay rise. Not sure if that is backdated to last April or if it starts next April

The word on the street isn't too far from the position but there are other sticking points that may still prove difficult to overcome, not impossible but difficult.arsenalbob wrote:The word on the street is the pension scheme will stay open for a further 2 years and the lump sum is now £500 with a 2 per cent pay rise. Hopefully it's a 3 year deal as pay talks 2018 should have started.fishtank wrote:The word on the street isn't too far from the position but there are other sticking points that may still prove difficult to overcome, not impossible but difficult.arsenalbob wrote:The word on the street is the pension scheme will stay open for a further 2 years and the lump sum is now £500 with a 2 per cent pay rise. The devil will be in the detail as per usual. The union seem to be implying there won't be a strike ballot before Christmas. It will be nice if the mediators report actually gives us a clue or better as to what has been discussed and what the CWU/RM positions are. I just hope the union doesn't accept moving the start times forward from say 0612 to 0812 for delivery staff and the operation as a whole to cut costs. Otherwise it may affect OPGs after work responsibilities and we could be working in the dark part of the year.

Is £500 before tax close enough to 1 years pay? Will it be consolidated from April? Are the difficulties you speak of in regard to the pipeline and later delivery times?fishtank wrote:The word on the street isn't too far from the position but there are other sticking points that may still prove difficult to overcome, not impossible but difficult.arsenalbob wrote:The word on the street is the pension scheme will stay open for a further 2 years and the lump sum is now £500 with a 2 per cent pay rise. The strike mandate certainly helps to strengthen our position, a strike at anytime of the year is bad enough for RM never mind before Christmas, if anything January is busier with the sales, with the internet and society changing traditional Christmas is not what it used to be.aiden01 wrote:There was never going to be a strike before christmasCelgar wrote:The devil will be in the detail as per usual.
