Not really. I wouldn’t expect that many to go on strike a few days before xmas anyway. Striking in January will be just as effective as striking in October would have been.

January sales, plus January usually means lots of catalogues/credit card bills, so offices won't be quiet by any means. A strike in January would be less likely to turn the public against us for ruining Christmas for the kids.

You're looking at the first week in January at the earliest, If we're calling strikes in January we're in big trouble.

So considering that the busy Xmas period has passed without official strike action. When should our best next period of strike action be?? Because I think Xmas 2018 might just be a bit too far away.....

If we go on strike it makes no difference what month it is. The companies that use us for their parcels, might go else where and might not use us again, parcels are growing and the shareholders wont be happy to see parcels that we deliver, being deliver by other courier companies.

they have up to a week to respond but cwu might rip up mediators proposals which will lean heavily on rm side
and if they do lean unfairly on rm side there will be no cooling off period as rm will have used mediation as a delaying tactic

The cooling off period is part of the agreed legally binding mediation process, how much money do you want the union to piss away on lawyers?

I think the member should be told what is going on now , r/m and the mediator have had there time to keep everything quite from the members , there time is up , come on Terry , Dave lets hear summat , good or bad .
