Of course they 'should' but as I believe it's a local thing or has even been stopped (correct me if I'm wrong) most managersDICKIEG wrote:Should postmen be given the chance to go full time at xmas in a delivery office. As we are never given the choice. Thanks in advance
will just try to save money wherever they can so won't offer it (to save on the bonus part that depends on your permanent hours) or will just say 'Can't be done' but just egg everybody on to work to clear mail on full time hours on O/T. Wouldn't surprise me if the deadline for applying/submissions to work F/T over the Xmas build up has already passed.
Last year the bonus period started on 28 Nov so is it starting tomorrow (27 Nov) this year or are RM just holding our feet to the fire
because we're all in the naughty corner?

Apparently they stopped making up to official full time a couple of years ago so although o/t is paid taking most of us over 39 hrs for the Xmas period we still lose out on the Xmas bonus, tw*ts !!

We got it last year. Our contracts were made full time for the 2 full weeks prior to Xmas.

Another case of nothing seems to be consistent as far as RM are concerned, I'd suspect our Dom of foul play but we've actually got a different one this year who says the same thing, we can't have temp full time any longer so who knows !Burghboy wrote:ted_e_bear wrote:Apparently they stopped making up to official full time a couple of years ago so although o/t is paid taking most of us over 39 hrs for the Xmas period we still lose out on the Xmas bonus, tw*ts !!

Can I just ask someone to clarify something please.
If a part timer works full time hours on overtime, they do not get the full payment.
But if they are temporarily made FT then they will get the full amount.
This is what I'm not sure about. My van share partner is PT so affects him.

I've been in that situation. when the bonus was paid I received the pro rata bonus amount for my contracted hrs. the additional to make the full time payment equivalent was paid in arrears the next week (or maybe the week after) like regular OT paymentslala wrote:Can I just ask someone to clarify something please.

As far as I am aware it works of your contract don't think temporarily is a contract it is a resourcing issue and guaranteed hour's over a set period so no he/she would not get it the same as full time.lala wrote:Can I just ask someone to clarify something please.

Apologies for being thick, but I'm still confused. I began starting at seven today and finishing at three, doing parcels before my delivery. The morning hours are booked as overtime, like any going over would be, so I haven't been made up to full time like some seem to have been on here. So would I get full bonus or just pro rata?aiden01 wrote:correct if doing ft hours between 27 nov and 24 dec you will get full bonusyellowbelly wrote:Of course they 'should' but as I believe it's a local thing or has even been stopped (correct me if I'm wrong) most managersDICKIEG wrote:Should postmen be given the chance to go full time at xmas in a delivery office. It's doing my nut in that everything seems to be so confusing and seemingly different from DO to DO

I understand (but am willing to be corrected) that there are two bonuses (taken from last years Christmas Arrangements document):crimson king wrote:Apologies for being thick, but I'm still confused. 1. The Christmas pay supplement of £100 for full time OPG and OSGs (pro-rated for part timers)
2. The separate payment of £100 (pro rata for PT employees) agreed in the National Joint Statement - New Incentive Arrangements June 2012
If you are P/T but work more than your P/T hours up to F/T on O/T, one of the bonuses (not sure which) will proportionally increase with hours of O/T worked.
The other bonus is on your contracted hours so if you are P/T and are not 'made up' for Xmas you will still only get the other bonus pro rata. Last year
I didn't get the proportionally increased part of the bonus until second or third pay packet of January though.

Yellowbelly is correct.
The Christmas Bonus is based on contract hours for the 4 weeks of Christmas pressure.
The BT2010 Bonus is based on hours actually worked over the same 4 weeks. I think that SA does not attract the 2010 bonus, but all other overtime up to 39 hours does.
