2 A better pension scheme than Royal Mail are proposing
3. A Pay rise which is not linked to strings or changes to ways of working and is not dependent on performance related pay
4. Progress on the SWW
5. A fair deal for part timers including holiday pay and a more robust procedure to increase their contracted hours.
6. A independent review into the bullying culture within the workplace which is based on unrealistic workloads and unachievable targets
7. An extension of the legal guarantees until 2022.
8. Rejection of Royal Mail’s workplan which is based on moving the pipeline later , cancelling all flights (which don’t cross a sea )which maintains early starts. They do not want walks to go out on delivery until past 11 in the morning.
9 Rejection Royal Mail’s multi bundle delivery option.
10. Rejection of Royal Mail’s walk ownership model which removes the union from resourcing and revisions as it will be your responsibility to clear the work allocated you daily and with banking of hours and coverage of individuals within your team who are on leave or sick.
11. Rejection of Royal Mail’s desire to resource and introduce individual performance standards from their automated hours Data capture software ie recording of every minute you work and what they deem as efficient working.

That's what I want

I think that covers it !

The question is what we want and union at the top thinks is a good deal. Would be an idea for the ones at top management and union to do just 1 week as a postman and see if they can complete everything in the time given.

1. No 9 till 5pm for letter deliveries - We know why Royal Mail want it. If they can invest in automation and change the pipeline it means they can save in both processing and delivery staff who are sorting mail in delivery offices. But machines often break down, and even now there are problems in maintaining service levels when the 2nd wave of mech comes in either late or un-sequenced. Secondly, it will give the company the green light to further extend deliveries on foot - which creates more exhaustion and fatigue to an ageing workforce. Thirdly, it further damages our reputation as Morning posties. And lastly, it leads to more accidents and issues while on delivery during both rush hour traffic and delivering in the dark - its pitch black outside now at 4pm

2. An end to the van share - Its not one of Royal Mail's brighter ideas. The cost of buying all those vans to pair posties up, then there's petrol costs, more van accidents on deliveries and repair and maintenance. Then of course you are working in pairs - so one finishes a loop and you are waiting for the other to finish, or if you are a van driver, you are driving back round again to pick your partner up after doing a parcel. Its just massively inefficient, especially if your partner won't use a trolley so the driver can't get cracking with large packets. The driver loops are supposed to smaller to accommodate all this, but its not often the case when your partner can't manage their own loops. There must be a better way.

3. Dedicated large parcel drivers all year round - not just at Xmas. Its something that we always had and how many times have we had large parcels which just get in the way of all the delivery bags and trays that are just crammed in the van. Some of these large parcels that we get seem to fill half of a small van - it just doesn't make sense. There should be a dedicated large van doing all these large packets.

4. A strong emphasis on "customer service" and doing things our way instead of copying the 'competition'. Just because the competition are leaving parcels 10 doors away down the street, why should we copy them? Some customers just don't want their parcels left with neighbours - and we are unique in that we can bring their items in for their collection at a callers office. What could make us really unique would be to offer customers time slots as something close to a 24/7 dedicated large parcel service, including Saturday's and Sunday. We could customers choose their own delivery slots - either early morning (6-9am), during day (9-5pm) or evening (5-11pm) and these drivers won't focus on anything else other than parcels in their own postcode area.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

there are some on here (and they know who they are) who think those two terms are acceptable, as well as team working, walk ownership, multi bundle shite, and no payrise. but hey!,,,we need to change, think of the customer and protect the business right. ffs.

Cannot see any of this happening as they want drivers in bigger vans to cover all area so NO walking postmen as such and collections will be done at the end of duty's the only hope we can have is a shorter working week and a pension for all and bigger OT rate for those who wish to cover the packets not done in time!

Firstly I would like an end to the bullying and harassment.
adequate staffing, so that we can turn up for work each day with the expectation we can actually do the job properly to standards and on time.
I would want full time duties to be staffed by full time workers.
I would want vacant duties actually filled
I want the prep fully factored, including D2D's. and not just factored because the Manager thinks that by saying it is factored it actually is.. even though it was completely over looked in the revision, along with the Drivers parcels.
I want Mandatory breaks.
I want equality in the pay structure... Why should a part time worker get less bonus than a full timer if they have worked more hours and been more productive. Why would that not be reflected in their pension and holiday credits.
I really want and end to the bullshit.

I'd accept use of PDA's to monitor progress on rounds, clocking in and out, 8 - 4 (or less) for me would be OK, one pension for all, robust policy on making p/t up to a 35 hour week if they are working those hours regularly, acceptance from management of round ownership within the current framework (i.e. less flexibilty for them to play around with our lives).

It would be nice to get a commitment to a strategy that focuses on more business, not one which requires managers to reduce their budgets by 3% year on year and gain kudos for burying the company in the ground ultimately.

BRING BACK D2D PAYMENTS FOR EVERY WORKER WE ARE GETTING SHAFTEWD ON A WEEKLY BASIS D2D'S ARE THROUGH THE ROOF
UNCHANGED START TIME, ANY LATER COMMUTES TO AND FROM WORK WILL EASILY DOUBLE/TRIPLE, OT ANY HELP FRO MANAGERS AND LINING YOUR OWN POCKETS WILL BE NON EXISTANT WITH LATER STARTS NO ONE WILL BE DELIVERING 1/2 A ROUND IN THE DARK
PENSION THAT WE CAN ACTUALLY LOOK FORWARD TO
PAY RISE IN ACCORDANCE WITH INFLATION NOT BASED ON TARGETS, WE GET POORER EVERY YEAR
PAYRISE TO ACCOMODATE ACTUAL HOURS WORKED AND NOT 1 lump sum.
a union member to test and complete each and every walk in every office across the country with a regular postie to see what duties are actually achieveable in the time frame allotted..
a complete overhaulk of each and every duty based on union trials, the creation of more jobs and not replacing ft members with pt and expecting the remaining ft to mop up all the extra work.
equal rights and justice for all
