None of this happens in reality as managers just sweep it under the carpet and what a big carpet it is!

We have had a few failures in recent weeks. Usual scenario in that the duty gets prepped, but its just sat there left in the frame untouched until the following day when some poor bugger then starts putting the next load of mail in, and then they leave mail/packets for the following day because they are taking two lots of mail/packets.

Worse thing is that no one seems to be accountable. Blame it on someone ringing in sick with man flu, blame it on oversized deliveries, blame it on managers who lost all faith, blame it on the boogie!!
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Guys if those things are happening make sure managers have reported it as a failure on the DODR. It is a LEGAL requirement and part of the terms of our licence. Speak up contact the Whistle Blowing site anonymously and have your managers investigated. Parcels and packets left to be delivered the next day MUST be recorded as a failure for that duty. Managers must not be allowed to under report

Not being 'anti' but how can we check this/do this, in some smaller offices a 'whistleblow' would soon put a small number of posties under
management scrutiny.

If you can defiantly prove that managers are deliberately under reporting it is GROSS MISCONDUCT. You may well have the finger of suspicion pointed at you but managers should and have been sacked over this so they wont be there if proven. This site is full of posties who have brought 1 maybe 2 items back and been sacked over the head of it. Managers should be held to the same standards as posties.

If you have a rep they should have no problem reporting this higher up the chain.
