Post by GT85 »

Ridiculously short staffed, been lapsing walks since February, people cutting off most days, walks often not going out, managers are out on delivery and are as fed up as posties but seem too scared to say anything, posties dragged in from other offices, Dom appears to be oblivious to it all.

People are both physically and mentally drained, not the ideal preparation for Christmas pressure.

I was off week before last, but coming back last Monday I definitely noticed an increase in the amount of packets , the thing is we have black Friday to go before xmas pressure , my life is becoming one big barcode.
I'm hoping to leave very soon to work for myself so I don't really let it get to me to much now , but man the noise of those pdas is really starting to grate on me.

What I cant understand is why some DOMs send posties to other offices even though they are short staffed themselves, expecting the posties left to pull in the extra work.I expect its to earn a pat of the back from their bosses, they couldnt give a toss how knackered, worn out and fed up their staff are. :no no

They rely on the idiots, who come in early and work for free and the runners who'll lapse on a heavy day just to get finished 10 mins early, to take up the slack!!

why worry about easy or hard days just finish at your finish time , if that's what you want to do it doesn't matter how much mail parcels there are your finish time is still the same

Thats easier said than done,I totally agree with you but when youve got runners and those that come in early and get the job done in time then you cant then you get comments like they can do it why cant you.You are not up to the job etc etc.The managers only see what they want to see,as long as the mail is cleared and they dont have to pay any overtime they dont give a toss how they bully and intimidate the staff.

Offices the same, rounds supposedly the same and fair? Mmmmmm not sure what you mean by busy? Mail volumes, forecasts Model week? How laughable is that? Great to be busy and work right to your time, otherwise you will be asked to lapse and cover duties as you finished early the other day.we will be busy no doubt trying to find a spare van to help us do the job at our busiest time of the year

Yes! Full york of pkts every day this week for my duty and working until 4 every day, which normally only happens during "official" Christmas pressure, hopefully people are ordering stuff earlier this year or else Christmas pressure is going to be totally bonkers

How does that work on light days though? Seems mad to me to take longer than required.
