Let me set things straight. RM policy re:- shoes & uniform is just that, RM policy. In no way does it super-cede the LAW. This law covers ALL uniform provided by RM because they say you need a uniform to do your job. If you wear shoes that you know are dangerous just to be obnoxious & you have an accident, then you will be deemed at fault, H&S is everyones responsibility like it or not. The H&S at work act 1974 is an A3 sized poster & should be on display in every office. The section that applies is No5 in the first column. How many people would drive a van with a bald tyre just because the thick DOM told you to ?. When your licence ,points & fine is on the line, 99% of normal people would tell the DOM where to go. Quote this law to the management & put in a grievance for breaking the law, even threaten to call the number on the poster (trust me, they take breaches very seriously) & your shoes will magically appear.

Anybody else had to sew the Velcro patches back on to the trouser pockets after only four weeks wearing them?

Exactly. I'd happily pay a tenner for some boots if it meant getting them quickly without the usual hassle.

Six moths! Are you kidding? I've never had any item of uniform last six months.

I must admit, I find trousers the hardest to get. I usually get some combats from Asda for £12
