Police have appealed for information after a postman was hit in a hit and run on a Llanelli street.

The postman was completing his rounds in Denham Avenue, Sandy, on Saturday morning when he was hit by the car. It then drove off without stopping.


He was taken to hospital with what have been described as 'minor' injuries.


A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: “Police are trying to identify a driver involved in a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian, at Denham Avenue, Llanelli, on Saturday (October 28).

“The driver of a grey Vauxhall Corsa, thought to be aged in his 50s, hit a postman with his car near the Sandy Road roundabout at around 11am. He was accompanied by a female passenger, thought to be aged in her 30s. As a result the postman attended hospital with minor injuries.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Harries at Llanelli Police Station by calling 101.”
