A new-style Post Office which will be open seven days a week, including all day Sunday, is set to open in Derby next month.
The branch in Holbrook Road, Alvaston, which is inside the Co-operative food store, will be closed from Monday, November 20, for refurbishment until Wednesday, November 22, at 1pm.
Once reopened, the branch will offer two low-screened counters which will allow staff and customers to have more "discreet" conversations.
There will also be an enhanced range of products including manual banking and Royal Mail and Parcelforce International Services. Customers will still be able to pay using cheques.
Other services from the branch will include Post Office card account withdrawals, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
Mike Ball, Post Office Multiples account executive, said: "We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
"We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future."
The branch will be open Monday to Sunday from 7am to 10 pm. Its previous opening hours were Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. The Post Offices say that the additional 49 hours will make it more convenient for customers to visit.
During the two-day closure, customers can use alternative branches in either Shardlow Road, Alvaston or Harvey Road, Derby.

Open till 10pm but most likely not for all Royal Mail services, and the last collection probably still about 5pm.
