I don't think so, the cost of living has risen a lot, a lot more people will hold out for the sales in January ( last two weeks in December really ) and it will be as busy as Christmas week easy.
I refuse to let the Bastards grind me down. We in delivery hold the power if we did but realise it.
You don't hold any power - you are all replaceable.
RM could hire 3 part timers for every full time postman.
Striking will speed up your demise.

it seems to me most of you on this board need Royal Mail more than they need you.
Harsh but true.
Admin you might call this winding up people - I call it giving a different opinion (albeit that most won't like).
What bit of this isn't true?
If a postperson leaves RM make the decision to replace or not.
It is far harder for a postperson on 22K + Pension + Overtime (if applicable) to leave and find another job with that package

It's not the strength or weakness of an individual's position that's up for debate. It's the collective strength of the union. You, being an individualist completely miss the point.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

That's not true, its an opinion only. Truth is a fact, you made an assertion based on your opinion, just because you or I call something, anything, "true" doesn't make it so.

Having a different opinion is fine, using petty insults, put-downs and not showing respect to other members isn't. When you get the difference you may do well and persuade others to accept your position. Carry on the way you are, and along with other members, your opinions and posts will be disregarded as the utterances of a mad person shouting inside an empty room.

Me personally no, I took a drop in pay to become a postie, as did no doubt many others. There are some that will struggle to find other work on the same pay and conditions, but as with most generalisations, such an assertion isn't applicable to all.

Perhaps we need Noel Edmunds to help speed along a Deal or No Deal!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
