Wasn't the agreement based on RM sticking to certain things as well.
If RM haven't stuck to these themselves, then surely the original agreement is dead anyway.

Both sides have probably broken the agreement but it came down to not engaging in enough outside mediation which the union should have known before calling ballot .

Probably, and if so well done. As mentioned in previous posts RM is aware that the work force is following negotiations closely and obviously the majority of what will be discussed are behind closed doors till a resolution. So whatever you hear unless it’s official from our union big pinches of salt may be required.

Nobody WANTS to strike

Its a last resort

Now however union has a better hand and bargaining power than before the ballot was called, which makes an agreement in our favour more likely.

Without the need for IA
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I dont think it was planned. This decision gives the upper hand to RM. if the Union wanted to test the waters they should have been the ones going to court, to force RM to comply with the so called legally binding agreements that were broken. Now our timetable is dictated by them. Tactically at least that is not a good position. The only way to save face now would be to call a much bigger programme of strikes as soon as legally possible. RM have deliberately brought about this dispute, probably in order to destroy the meagre union powers that we do have. Do not forget what is at steak here. If we retreat from this fight in any way they will destroy our terms and conditions, pensions and change Royal Mail into a third rate Gig economy "employer"

This does not stop a strike before Christmas, and from past experience the public are still spending money after Christmas in the January Sales, and you get mega Flats with all the holiday advertising and January Sales advertising, so plenty of time to make a significant impact on this employer who has no respect for your daily labours whatsoever. Use the next 5-7 weeks to cushion your finances against the strikes which are inevitable and vent your anger on this bad company rather than your union who are the ones that have your futures at heart, not Royal Mail and Greene the Greedy.

I was wondering why is there no right of appeal in cases such as this?

Because when the establishment wants to stitch up the workers, nothing, but nothing, must ever get in their way.
