Only reason for not doing it would be 1) you've been meticulous in covering yours tracks under your current id 2) you value your post count 3) you've not been inflammatory or slandered anyone personally in the first case.

TBH I don't think it'd be a totally bad idea to either create new id.s on a regular and scheduled basis (much like is recommended for passwords) or have at least 2 ids/usernames running concurrently - one of which, for anything that you deem might be sensitive, would be completely anon (VPN/TOR).
However, as TBT pointed out upthread, the biggest threat to your anonymity is what you personally give away - mostly inadvertantly.

Can't answer your question about deleting your past posts though.

Just to be clear here - you have done no wrong if you express a reasoned opinion - but if you are disclosing 'price sensitive information' or are being slanderous then that is a completely different issue.

However, some on here believe certain posters aren't who they claim to be. Personally, I am not bothered if they are or are not. However, if you honestly believe that some posters are pretending to be Posties, but are managers then insulting them because they disagree with your viewpoint is not a wise move.

As with Trolls, if you think a poster is a sockpuppet and is baiting you - ignore them it's far safer than getting angry and replying. As Admiral Ackbar says it might be a trap.

You DO NOT need to use a VPN to view the site, Only me and Teebs can see your IP address, we do not sell or give it out to anyone.No one else can see it.

We do not delete accounts especially large post count ones as it can and has before screwed the site by giving out mass errors, if you feel you have posted something naughty you can edit your post yourselves.From memory Dan I don't think you have said anything to warrant management pulling you.

The last time anyone got 'pulled in by management' was a couple of years ago on our Facebook site, usually if someone is in trouble they contact us as well.We have had nothing for years.

Regarding Facebook, after 2 reps got pulled on Facebook I decided to dis-associate this site with it, the other Admins on there decided to pull the whole group and it is no more.

I am more worried about the goings on in the various groups on there than what is going on here.You are near enough anonymous here, you are not 'Bob from Swindon' on here with an open profile! There are a lot of people on there just posting without thinking and not once have I seen the CWU mention RM's social media policy.

Royal Mail's domain/IP addresses are banned on the site so no one on a RM computer can view us, unaware if Facebook is banned on RM comps, but then again look how easy it is to view FB on our phones!

We always put up warning announcements in time of conflict as we don't want ranting,swearing and serious slagging off of the top job bods, although this time it's slightly different.

Moya is different from Leighton and Crozier, we had a lot of fun with them 2, older posters will remember their infamous smilies.

Moya has had people sacked in Cananda post for online activities, one of the guys is on here.

Royal Mail communications department are viewing the site through a VPN, they are more concerned about abuse to Moya and I have regularly received emails from them regarding what you guys have posted about her.

Which is why I edited the 1st post to remind you of 'KNOWN PERSONALITIES WITHIN ROYAL MAIL AND THE CWU'.

Try not to over panic, follow the rules and you should be fine.

Its quite comical the way they are expending time and effort in emulating the Stasi.

As in East Germany, trust no one, use common sense, speak in codes , Stasi have informants everywhere and so thus this site also.

More than a little over-dramatic there. Most companies have firm policies on criticising bosses and individuals on social media, and RM are no different.
